Multiple Windows Session Autosave
-
Greetings everyone!
I have been doing some research on this before posting this topic. I have only found a .js mod that might help me, but I'm not even sure how to install it, since my knowledge of programming is limited at this moment.
Now, I know there's session autosave function regarding tabs. What I'm requesting to have implemented, if possible, is to be able to save the sessions across multiple windows.
You see, I have a window with multiple tabs related to online education, another window with multiple tabs related to Yoga, meditation and other daily practices, and another window with multiple tabs for the "daily browsing"stuff. Now, I regularly, manually save these in a single session which I... manually, have to re-open every time I restart my PC.
Would there be a way to automatically get all windows saved and re-opened, instead of having to do so manually every day or so?
Thank you!! Keep up the good work, been using Vivaldi desktop since it was in its first BETA version! and can't find a browser that fulfills all my wishes the way Vivaldi does
Great job on both platforms!!

@AlbornozDamme When you save a session, select the checkbox to save only the tabs in the current window.
- Save one session for Daily browsing, one for Yoga, etc.
- Open them both and save all windows as another session
- You can also use Settings, General, Startup, Last Session, which will open all tabs and windows as you left them, but use File menu, Exit — don't close individual windows with the close button. There is an option to warn on closing a window to avoid doing that accidentally if you want to exit.

Considering how far back this issue has been discussed:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/10198/multiple-windows-and-sessionAre there any plans for an official solution? It took me months to even catch on to what was happening: at first, I thought it was a bug.
This can crop up even when a user isn't explicitly doing Ctrl+N. For example, the Google Hangouts extension...automatically runs in its own window. And guess what can happen if it's the last one closed as you exit Vivaldi?
I'm not sure what the solution should be, but maybe Vivaldi can keep track of the number of tabs open in a given window. If one window has 27 tabs, and the other has like 1, go ahead and restore the big one on the assumption that it's the important one!

Hi, Thanks for your feature request.
This looks like a duplicate of https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/25746/session-autosave Please vote & discuss at that thread, thank you.
You can use the forum search first to see if you can find similar requests. If that doesn't work, I've catalogued all the requests here.
