Backspace shortcut should be disabled by default

The option should be disabled by default.
This is extra work that will never be looked at unless a user has had a traumatic experience. It is much less of a problem to make people turn on a thing that can cause issues rather than set it as the default, especially when they are as adept at setting options as we see the Default On supports are here.
I understand this is an old convention. I also think most people have never liked it. I just lost 45 minutes of work to this issue and I am going to blame Vivaldi for it, fair or not.

@NoBacksies Still only 15 upvotes after five years, which indicates that this is a low priority for most forum members.
It depends on where you are typing a message, but on many forums, the message is not lost on History Back. One just uses History Forward to edit the message. Here, the message box remains open with your draft text ready to post.
I submitted the post after History Back, and it was posted in the right place. Smart website code to avoid loss of data.

@Pesala I just acquired a new to me laptop and I installed a new version of Vivaldi. I was dumbfounded why the backspace key wasn't taking me to a previous page. I went into the settings>keyboard>page>history back and it was BLANK. I tried to add BACKSPACE but nothing happened. I went to my other laptop and I had that setup with ALT (left arrow) to go back, as well as CTRL (left arrow) as well as the former default of BACKSPACE as the third option. Trying to see if I deleted the Backspace and trying to add it would trigger something I was doing wrong on the newer laptop, well once I deleted the BACKSPACE shortcut, I could NOT add it back and now I'm pissed since that was one of my most used shortcuts. Yes I can use the other 2 I have but the BACKSPACE key to go back was my preference. How can I get this back? Help please...

@fusion01k Hover or focus the keyboard shortcut input field for the command. A reload (restore to default) button should appear, which lets you get back to the defaults for that command.

@fusion01k As luetage said; click on the reload button to restore the defaults. Backspace is used in the Settings dialog to delete individual shortcuts.
