Backspace shortcut should be disabled by default

The option should be disabled by default.
This is extra work that will never be looked at unless a user has had a traumatic experience. It is much less of a problem to make people turn on a thing that can cause issues rather than set it as the default, especially when they are as adept at setting options as we see the Default On supports are here.
I understand this is an old convention. I also think most people have never liked it. I just lost 45 minutes of work to this issue and I am going to blame Vivaldi for it, fair or not.

@NoBacksies Still only 15 upvotes after five years, which indicates that this is a low priority for most forum members.
It depends on where you are typing a message, but on many forums, the message is not lost on History Back. One just uses History Forward to edit the message. Here, the message box remains open with your draft text ready to post.
I submitted the post after History Back, and it was posted in the right place. Smart website code to avoid loss of data.
