Change the fallback DNS from Google
-
In the "privacy" settings panel we have the Google DNS pre-selected.
This is a concern to some, and they would like it disabled by default.
I however would much prefer it if we had Cloudflare or Quad9 as the DNS.
Then you can leave it pre-selected and everyone will be happy. -
@Dr-Flay hi. We already have a request for this. Please vote for that instead.

@LonM
No that is not the same at all.
Vivaldi now has optional use of Google DNS as fallback.
My request is for the existing feature we now have to be a different DNS provider.What that user is asking for is what I asked for in a different post, when I asked for the same DNSCrypt system that Yandex use.
I would still like that feature as it adds authenticated DNS which the OS does not do.This is a request for a change to an aspect we currently already have have residing in the "Preferences" panel, which is why I put it in the section I did.

@Dr-Flay As I see it, if Vivaldi added a custom DNS settings, you would be able to choose multiple. This is how windows sets it for example, where you can define up to 2 separate DNS services.
Perhaps you could re-word your request to be "Change Fallback DNS from Google", to make the request more explicit?

I really can't see the logic of having this option in the first place, you already can set different DNS servers on your OS.

For me it doesn't even work anyway. I just tried a domain I know will fail if I use DNSCrypt. For some reason www.abelhadigital.com has not propagated across all the OpenDNS resolvers.

The browser is not making use of Google DNS if it is actually falling back.
I think further validation that this feature even works would be useful with deciding its fate. -
