That's an interesting question. I hadn't realised that that's what was happening. Here in the UK there's a lot about internet security and social media trolling. ISPs can keep politicians, who are the least technically savvy people on the planet, happy by putting this sort of gateway in place. "It's to protect the children don't you know" Unfortunately lockdowns have shown that us Brits are happy to let the government protect us from ourselves by giving up all our rights that took several centuries to get in the first place

@Pathduck I'd like to think they'd release a firmware update, but I haven't managed to get them to acknowledge the problem - "it works fine if you factory reset and don't change any of the default settings". Okay, but that doesn't help as I don't then have custom DNS or any static IPs! Using a hosts file doesn't help unfortunately as I need the address to be available to several PCs and also my Android phone (one of the services on the server is nextcloud which I use to automatically backup the phone - it's not much use if it only works when I'm away from home!)

To be honest if your kids are over 10-11 yo, you should let them and maybe force them to watch those kind of stuff, is better to show them and explain it, than letting them finding themselves, also they can always use incognito mode or use the mobile versions to bypass a dns filter U,U Maybe this can work :'v https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/webfilter-free-parental-c/epniipcfpbjliciholgdeipceecgcfmj if not changing the filters inside the OS, or if you feel that you know what you are doing, you can go directly into your router/modem configuration and apply the settings there, so it wouldn't matter if it's a phone, a laptop a desktop or a smart tv, you wont be able to enter to watch your favorite videos on pornhub

For me it doesn't even work anyway. I just tried a domain I know will fail if I use DNSCrypt. For some reason www.abelhadigital.com has not propagated across all the OpenDNS resolvers. https://pulsedive.com/indicator/?iid=5923728 The browser is not making use of Google DNS if it is actually falling back. I think further validation that this feature even works would be useful with deciding its fate.

@Yaminoyuurei I agree. The internal settings are not all in Vivaldi Settings page. Some internal settings will be ported to Vivaldi Settings step-by-step, no timeline given.
