There is no other better browser GUI/All-In-One Feature Rich browser. Add mozillas containers technology and you have one powerful browser that can accommodate any web-surfer across all major operating systems.

My dream browser would be Vivaldi Quantum for all the about:config settings that would be introduced including those mozilla/tor-project collaborations but this is but a dream.

I'm grateful for Vivaldi and do use it. In a time where other take features away, Vivaldi give you all the furniture and allows you to set it all to fit your needs. I have come to like this so much that there have been times I'd wished that Vivaldi, like Affinity Designer or Photoshop, were to allow me to save different layouts for different working scenarios. I think this would actually be a good feature.

I see all Vivaldi has done with the browser and it is good. The browser has come very far both on desktop and mobile.

It is the one chromium flavor I use and recommend.

@orionrion The technology being spoken-of/requested by the name of "Multi-Account Containers" is much more than a "multi-login" extension.

You can do a multi-login right now by merely opening a private-window. You can use your standard and private-window to login to two different gmail account (1 on standard, 1 on private-window).

Containers works kind in such way but per tab(s)-container regarless of being a standard or private browsing session.

Containers give you control over cookies themselves.

Containers is much more than a mere multi-login addon. You can think of Containers as a built-in cookies management infrascture.

Your advice is suitable for those who have 2-3 accounts. But if there are 10-20 of them. It doesn't fit at all. It's a shame that Vivaldi doesn't have this feature. However, we can see that someone created an extension that satisfied the user's request. So it is possible.
I hope that the developers will hear us and Multi-Account Containers will appear

Please add this feature! There is no Chrome extension that is good enough for this (it doesn't work with Google accounts, for example). I love Firefox just because of these containers, but it keeps crashing on my machine, so I need another browser. Vivaldi is almost perfect. But it has the profile system like Chrome and that is just cumbersome.

There is a paid app that does a great job at this called Shift (tryshift.com) but it doesn't support add-ons and costs $100/year.

If there would be a way to allow account containers for Vivaldi, I could switch over completely. I would easily pay for a browser that could do everything for me. (multiple account containers/identities and add-ons)

I've been using Wavebox (wavebox.io) as my main browser for a while. Also chromium-based and supports per-tab cookie containers (though not as nice as Firefox's implementation). It's a paid app though (also $100/year).

Someone else mentioned Ghost Browser (ghostbrowser.com) which is free for up to four "identities" (cookie containers) or $250/year for unlimited.

Both of these options are Chromium and implement the cookie container functionality in different ways, so it should definitely be at least possible to implement in Vivaldi, but also both are proprietary paid products, so it's not like you can just go to GitHub and figure out how they did it, either.

This week I fired up an old box and used Firefox to browse the web generally to research a product I might shop for, and also to check Facebook . The next day, the ads on Facebook indicated that they'd been following me around. It was a surprise, because I never encounter the creepy ads when using Vivaldi on my daily laptop. Why not? Apparently it's some combination of my Vivaldi privacy settings and the use of the uBlock Origin extension. Containers seem to be unnecessary.

@priest72 No, nor containers. I've been running it au naturel to see what they mean when they claim that it blocks third party cookies and social tracking. Well, whatever it means, it still lets FB follow me around and watch what I do

@kevan Tracking protection in firefox needs to be configured via the settings..I use the strict configuration.

The fact that this thread has been open for YEARS is disappointing.

I'm sure that statement might give off some strong "entitled millennial" vibes, but come on devs... This thread has been open since 2018. Throw us a bone and provide some kind of official statement here.

Yes, I think Vivaldi's audience appreciates all of the awesome, feature rich, out of the box ideas that Vivaldi has been implementing within that time-span... but containers are a vital feature and testament to the browser's practical functionality. It is the missing substance that would pair well with Vivaldi's style.

We don't need to juggle browsers all day... and for many of us, it's the only reason we don't use Vivaldi for work.

Again, I love the stuff that Vivaldi has kicked out, but containers are the big boy toys that are needed in today's environment more than ever.. Especially for those of us who want to use it for work.

Can we get an official response and stance from Vivaldi?
Is this on the development road map?

@number28 With 4,500 feature requests, and a small team, those needed by few users or difficult to implement may have to wait for a long time. Wherever you see that a feature is tagged as In Progress, it may get done this year rather than next.

This is one of the top requests, but votes are not the main factor in deciding what gets fixed first.

I don't seem to understand what is the problem, it's not possible for you to use different user profiles? Each user profile will have different history, saved passwords and cookies so you can have one window to open a site with one user/pass, another window opening the same site with another user/pass.

@browseruser I fear it's not possible to have multiple profiles on the same window. But really, if you have to do 2 different things with 2 different users, better you try it and live with it, you can't have everything in life.

Looking at replies talking about window based profiles must have a different workflow, have not been exposed to tabbed based containers for very long, or don't use the web much in a way that requires many accounts.

If you are managing multiple projects across different institutions in something like Trello, tabbed containers are much cleaner than having 3,4, or 5 windows open. Forcing specific sites to different tab containers is also useful for a cleaner experience. My setup has 3 monitors and it is easier to manage everything in tabs vs browser windows. I get my use case is likely in the minority but still hoping to see this feature for vivaldi one day.

While I'd love to have this, to me it seems Multi-Account Containers may be a huge feature to implement in Vivaldi by Vivaldi developers alone and may need Google to set the foundations for it in the Chromium source code. Right now it's a killer feature of Firefox, and rightly so. I use Firefox for the accounts I wish to use with MAC and Vivaldi for everything else.
