Great to hear! Could you maybe consider making it possible for modifications and/or extensions to create draggable handles as well (i.e. drag data transfer magic akin to
application/x-moz-file
)? I would really, really love to have draggable files in my download shelf modification. If we could get that to work we could win over a bunch of new frustrated chrome users as they are removing the download shelf. You would make me very happy too
I guess I could very painfully inject a ton of stuff into a webview of vivaldi://downloads to accomplish it right now but I much prefer not going through that pain. You can also NDA me and give me source and I do it, anything to not having to inject through a trillion shadow roots

Would it also be possible to implement a system similar to opera's file panel? It would complete the same functions as drag and drop from downloads, but also allow access to images from the clipboard.
-
why is EDGE, Ya.Bro better than Vivaldi ?
this is my Promt for DALL-E3
draw for me picture about text "Vivladi, make drag'n'drop in download, more hi-tech"
Neural networks are acquiring new problems -- how can their results be simplified? I would be satisfied with a brick or a hammer
Here's a harmful network -- it also photoshop glued.
And linked topic support-for-mime-types -
@cehojac 100%. Vivaldi needs to actually listen to these standard requests that exist in Chrome, Edge and Firefox and stop with the stupid voting system. They don't have a big enough user base for voting to be effective and frankly we are talking about a public that doesn't vote for President let alone for anything else. Be real. Take the suggestions seriously.

This would be really helpful. An example use case: downloading an expense receipt PDF and needing to drag/drop it into the web interface for the expensing software.
-
@kraftbj If you continue your analogy, the next step, after downloading , is the automatic opening of the application with file type associated .
I remember that many refer to the Opera forum, where this issue was raised 10 years ago. And already about 15 years ago it was implemented in numerous Downloaders. -
@cehojac yes i agree. please add drag and drop feature in download panel
-
not an exaggeration when I say that this feature is the main thing keeping me from using vivaldi as my primary browser. major workflow killer, especially when coming from other browsers that have had this functionality for awhile.

it means that Vivaldi is not the right tool for you, if none of its features makes you want to use it, and instead you get stopped by a single little missing feature, that can be circumvented by opening the download directory with the "show in filemanager" button and use drag&drop there instead of inside the download panel.

@BoneTone
And how many votes he got... -
@lamantin This desired function is already on the Vivaldi team's to-do list, but a release date has not yet been set.

What a clownery, such a good browser and such lazy developers. 6 years can't add such a simple feature

Not a nice thing to say about Vivaldi developers especially if you want them to do something new for you. Good luck with that. This is a very helpful & courteous community so maybe you should try that approach.
-
@DeadSigma If you want help in forum, do not attack team. I can understand your frustration and disappointment, take a rest.
-
@janrif I absolutely agree, I always do this in relation to someone who cares about you ๏ธ If a person doesnโt care about you, then sometimes you should put pressure, and if this doesnโt help, then the right thing to do is stop communicating with him, if you understand what I'm talking about.

Create a new web panel, with this address: vivaldi://downloads.
