The year is 2024. Progress is slow (we have now been tagged as "nice to have"), but is happening. I still check this thread every few months to see if I can switch to Vivaldi yet.

I first posted 2018 in this thread. Still waiting. This is the one thing that still annoys me the most when using Vivaldi.

@docacola 75 votes are not so much to add this, i guess.

If i look in the "Done" section, 75 votes seem plenty. But i doubt that votes do have much influence on what gets implemented anyway.

Totally agree. I have Vivaldi downloaded on my computer, yet the one thing that prevents me from switching is the auto completion. Every time I use vivaldi for more than 5 minutes, I am reminded how much of a pain it is using a browser without it. Every major competitor (including Firefox) has this now.

Six years and this is still a point of contention? I'm pretty new to Vivaldi - but after a month I'm switching back to Brave. The primary factor - by a large margin - is this functionality. Of course, there's also the lag, bugs, and the overall "total control over UI and behavior....except for the one chrome-like option you need to appease a decade of muscle memory" (quicksearch isn't the only one). But, honestly - I would probably push through everything else if this were implemented - or even planned. But just ignored for six years? Pfft.

Formally requesting this feature in the year 2025.
