"There's no need to download a new web browser."(Microsoft Edge)

@Qarboz Oh, no, it is! It's my main translator app, pretty good! Excepting some issues...
But not, there's no problem with the translation, I only saw in more posts that users were asked to "go back to English, please". And I thought it was kind of a requirement for most users if the conversation doesn't take place in a local forum.
However, I think you could continue in your language, DeepL will help me too! -

Yes! Think a little: before AI to help humans, there were certainly other options -- AI isn't the only solution.
But, not everyone wants to search for other options, some almost force themselves to use AI only (I know what I'm saying!). -

Ever used Startpage?
Yes, for images and as my backup. I discussed that up-thread.

Excuse me, but what do you mean with this? Can you use Startpage as a cloud storage? Didn't hear about that before.

He means he uses it as a second search engine when his default one fails to find what he wants.
If English isn't your first language then the wording will appear strange!

Yes, what @wintercoast said is correct. Sometimes my wording can be a bit too terse. I prefer Brave, largely due to its time-saving AI, but Startpage has a more complete database, so I use Startpage when that is more important.
-
@paul1149 I use Goolge or Bing in such situations(that doesn't happen too often).
-
@ThePfromtheO I'm fond of neither company, nor of their privacy policies.
-
@paul1149, Google has one of the biggest data base, but apart privacy the bigger problem is the filter bubble effect in search engines which logged the activity of the user, its like asking someone which always agree with you, even if you are wrong, shows always results to your like as first result.
The alternative is to use Startpage or a Whoogle instance, which use the Google base, but without the trackings and loggings. Same for Bing, using DDG or Ecosia. Alternative searches with own bases, like Mojeek or Groot. Also Andisearch, which I use as main search, it has an own crawler with AI and gives accurat and objective answers, apart is one of the most private searches out there. -

Yes, because Google, despite its deterioration over the years, still has the best search engine (in general), when your preferred search engine does not find what you want, you may need Google as a fallback.
But if you don't want to actually use Google itself due to privacy concerns, you can try Startpage, as it's essentially Google Search minus Google's "supervision."

Yeah, I see myself forced to admit that.
Although I have a kinda stance against its products (what hypocrisy! -- then, why do I still use Android?)
One of the reasons would be its weak privacy policy, as well as its design, which is awful for me (especially Chrome's). -
@ThePfromtheO My personal approach is that if I dislike a company for some reason, or just dislike some of its products or policies, it doesn't mean I will stop using a product but I'll switch if there is a product that is either equivalent in features, or good enough for my purposes.
With Big Tech, their money does often mean they have the best products, at least from an overall usability perspective, or they have an ecosystem that makes them compelling.
-
@wintercoast Yes, I agree with you!
Actually, I still use Google Meet, and Android, as I said -
"One search to find them, one to use them all"
https://searx.neocities.orgWhy settle for this or that search engine, when you can use all of them ?
-
@Dr-Flay That's interesting. I've never heard about it!
Gonna try it when I'll have time
