Customize Appearance of Menus and Scrollbars
-
@g_bartsch There is now a Setting in Appearance, Menu for a compact layout in both the latest Snapshot and Stable. This may not last very long, depending on what the Chromium developers do.

Hi, this is a really big arrow. -

@Pesala Thank you. I'm glad the devs made this patch. I'd LOVE the option to be able to tighten the line spacing between items. In these menus AND in the Bookmark panel. I like to see as much information as possible without the need of scrolling and - especially in the case of a large number of bookmarks - that's what tighter line spacing, and even a smaller font size, would allow.

Sadly it appears that Vivaldis "Compac Layout" option does not revert the context menus to be excactly the same height as they were before the big Chromium refresh or as they are by disabling the 2023 Refresh flags.
I noticed this because I am a web power user and by now I pretty much nailed down the distances I need to travel by mouse and even a small change like this throws me off.
Chrome(ium)s increasingly questionable design choices are what led me to switch to Vivaldi as the most customizable and therefore user-friendliest web browser I know, and therefore I would very much appreciate more options to customize the right click context menu.
+1 For this Feature Request

@deelan For greater efficiency, remove any items you donโt use, and move those that you use frequently closer to the top. Settings, Appearance, Menu Customization. I fear that we may have to wait a long time to get the requested feature โ it is already one of the oldest and most requested features, but is only tagged as Nice to Have, indicating that it is not high on the list of things to do.

And start using the ones you can through Mouse Gestures or Shortcuts.
-
why are you all doing a whole ui refresh and STILL leaving these as stock chromium?

I can't understand how it still isn't being addressed. It's a big part of the UI, and if it is due to Chromium restrictions, then how can Edge do this? Developers, please bring it here too...
Here is Edge Context Menu on W11

@ekozcifci
Hi, they have ten times more developers at least.
Set it to compact in Appearance is fine to me, it bothers me at all.
We have a mod in the modification section, iirc you can set font size, space and so forth for the menus.Cheers, mib
