@Makoki137, anyway welcome, sadly I don't use Mac and can't reproduce this problem, but for sure someone can help you in this issue. Problems in Vivaldi generally are caused by some extension, security soft or certain settings. Because of this the first is to try the Troubleshooting steps.

Re: New to the Forum? Start here!
I’m kind of new to the forums here.
When I started searching for other web browsers I noticed a lot of them had the same look minimalist approach. Nothing different no matter where you went.
I started looking for something different and something that could keep me productive.
That’s when I found Vivaldi browser about 2 years ago and started using to it and recently been get into the customization a lot better. I have not even discovered every way you can do things. I’m more speaking windows version. Workspaces my favorite thing right now.
I just like Vivaldi being different from the crowd.
That all I will say for now. -
@zeke365, welcome to the community, since you've been using Vivaldi for 2 years, I think I can skip explaining the basics and just hope you enjoy it. Don't worry that you still don't know all the ins and outs of Vivaldi, there are so many that I also learn new things almost daily after 8 years of using it.
Happy browsing

@GONCHDMITRIY
@ZEKE365 You can now use your own signature if you like.
Welcome to the 'Vivaldiverse'! Have fun here and maybe also on Vivaldi's 'Mastodon' instance social.vivaldi.net

Hi Everyone
Im new on here and this forum was suggested to say hi!So I'm 52 and I my skill level has been about checking email and social media until about a year ago I read an article that just had me sit back look at my laptop and just say damn all that power you can unleash all the info to learn and I been blind to not wanting my ways to learn or change . So more and more reading then added videos on YouTube and just trying things.. Really just try to learn by reading and hands on so yes alot of mistakes but I have switched to Linux last week and told myselfim a just put it out there I'm new and pretty much clueless I mean I did read a book LINUX for dummies lol and more technical but that's the book that made me say see I can try this lol,,,,, So any suggestions , tips , advice anything anyone wants to send my way I be very grateful
Have a great day everyone and be safe -
@GreatGazoo215
Hello,
Welcome to the 'Vivaldiverse'!Thank you for your nice, detailed introduction.
Very nice that you have decided in favour of Linux.
The book 'Linux for Dummies' is very good.
Maybe you have it from your library, you will find more interesting Linux books there.You've come to the right place with Linux here at Vivaldi.
Vivaldi was developed for Linux from the very beginning, before the old 'Opera'.
And Linux is much more simply designed and developed than Windows.
Don't be shocked by the 'terminal', the console.
All large, well-known Linux distributions can now be operated completely without 'Terminal' commands.
There are graphical user interfaces for everything in the distributions today.Only when you start to enjoy it, go for it.
Then you will realise that it simplifies many things.
However, it is no longer necessary to use the 'terminal'. -
@GreatGazoo215
Now that you can create your own signature, you can enter which Linux distributions you use and which device you have.
This can be useful for helpers here when troubleshooting.There is also an extra Linux section here:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/31/gnu-linuxAnd now have fun here and maybe also on Vivaldi's 'Mastodon'

@ingolftopf Thank you so much for the welcome I appreciate it more then you know and I'm just excited about learning again something that is completely new to me it just feels good . I have never been one to listen to someone say you cant do that or your to old to understand that but man I had to laugh with people telling me you check your email since gmail was started and that's it now you think you can learn and understand Gnu/linux so being welcomed made my day thanks again

@GreatGazoo215, Hi, I have already passed 70 and, without being a great expert in complicated programming, Linux and related things, I can handle myself quite well. In the past I also used Linux, along with Windows, which in the near future is also going to be the case when Windows 10 is killed by MS.
In any case I can say that I didn't have a big problem handling Linux from the beginning, OK, the management of files and executables is somewhat different, but apart from this there aren't that many differences in day-to-day management, especially when the activity is mainly online, where the Operating system is quite irrelevant, only the browser environment counts, and this is always the same.
Experiment a little with Vivaldi (don't be afraid, it's all resettable) and I'm sure you'll quickly get the hang of it, for any questions and problems about it, we're here to help.
Enjoy

@Catweazle
It's great that you're linking in here too.It just fits.
-
@Catweazle Thanks and reading that made me smile and I'm a do just that experiment , trial and error and asking questions
-
@ingolftopf I agree and you guys being so friendly and just positive vibes made this first hello easy
-
@Catweazle In your 70's? Me, too! Astonishing that I'm more technically advanced, without even trying, than most people half my age. I took classes in Fortran and Cobol in high school. Then back in the day, to use personal computers, you kind of had to be able to understand them. Now, there are at least two more generations of people who use them all day every day, and have NO IDEA what's going on on the other side of the keyboard.
-
@GreatGazoo215 Welcome aboard!
-
@Ayespy, that is the point, we grow up with PC without graphic interface, needed at least to create batch files, juggle ANSI and have at least some basics in Basic, Pascal and things like that, to be able to use this PC for something. Today all this isn't not longer needed and after 30 Years i've forgotten a lot, but at least I understand more or less how this thing work.
