Include QR code scanner in mobile version
-
I just posted a similar request. To put a fine point on it, are you talking about within the main browser interface, or for the widget that can be placed on the device's homescreen? I would like it in both places, but having it on the homescreen widget would be especially helpful.

I will find this feature useful even though I have a inbuilt qr code scanner in the camera app.
Although Vivaldi is my main mobile browser, I don't use it as my default browser. So when I open a link with my qr scanner, it sends me to my default browser which is what I wanted. However, there are some cases where I want to open it in Vivaldi instead and a capability to do so would be very useful.

Me too, I miss this feature from Opera

Enable following flags
chrome://flags/#chrome-sharing-hub
chrome://flags/#chrome-share-qr-code
Then load any website. Open Menu - share - qr code
There will be scan qr code option in second tab.
But this scanner only scan on other phone/computer. -
Today, with the implementation of QR code generation in snapshot, this function takes on a lot of relevance. I hope you can implement it soon.

I would like to see a QR code scanner in the desktop version as well. My current job requires me to frequently need to scan QR codes to access registration information for various things. And there are many times when I have a pdf, word document, or website with a qr code that I need to scan. Being able to do this with Vivaldi (which I use religiously at work) would make my life so much easier.
I imagine being able to select an area on the screen using a mouse (like a screenshot) and then scanning it for a qr code.

Vivaldi for Desktop got the feature that URL is shown by QR code. So, I think Vivaldi for Android needs this feature QR code reader for cooperating with Desktop version.

Latest snapshot offers a scanner for testing: https://vivaldi.com/blog/mobile/android-3-6-2160-3/

Can I scan QR codes in private mode?
Sometimes I want to open the link directly into a private tab, but there's no QR code scanner in the search bar. -
@Naal The QR code scanner is already available in private tabs in the Snapshot version of the app, so it will be included in the Stable version of Vivaldi on Android soon.
