Vivaldi 1.15 begins – Vivaldi browser Snapshot 1.15.1089.3

@voldemar227 They're working on it. There is no need for profanity.

Developers? Where is the fix ? ? ?
Do you work on the weekend too?
-
So I take it that "enabling tab switch by RMB+scroll no longer affects other functionality" will be done never?
-
@xtremalraven there is no sign of Vivaldi closing down the shop, so fixes will come eventually in the future. I'm with you the general sentiment is the bugs are just increasing, and the last 1.14 "stable" release had to be thrown out of the window in a rushed way, but just look at the current Snapshot blog, the list of fixes indicates they're working hard every day to get all bugs nailed.

Here is the result. Good trusting people lost all their records.
No they didn't! The comments on this thread mention a few times that you can edit your notes file or just copy the backup.
Are you satisfied? Stop it and return Notes to the simplest and most reliable version, as it was in Opera 12.
If you can't handle bugs, don't use a TEST VERSION!
-
@(almost)all: Take it easy folks!
Sure, if one is using a snapshot version we better get our backups updated. I have two layers, one from my regular global backup, one more when upgrading, and I wouldn't recommend any less to anyone.
But, it still is frustrating to hit some deal breaking bug, not the least because they are quite rare. Last time I had to restore a backup was maybe back in 2014 when saving bookmarks was unstable. Then I had to do it today (I guess because of a bug in the contrast preferences, already reported a few messages above)
So let's be patient and understanding with each other, will we? No point in shouting at the devs, nor at the users.
(edit: it was 2015. Or so, as you may read bellow

What line?
Edit: nevermind, got it. It was the line mentioned before. -
I wonder if it would be worth adding in big letters This build will be unstable to the snapshot installer screen.
-
@mozzer: I can confirm! Thanks for reporting! Although it does not happen to me on security tooltip but on Open Saved Session window. It is decreasing in height, contrary to increasing width of security tooltip. Contrary or... complementary. Looks to be working symmetrically.
-
@astro_corp: It is not a standard (Chrome) Opera browser functionality. I would say the best party to ask is the add-on developer - ask him for export functionality to some common format. For example to Opera 12 format and then you will be able to import to Vivaldi.
-
@rotfl: It is not happening reliably every time, doesn't it? So the problem here is that it is hard to reproduce. But I can confirm. I would hope it will be looked into. You may file a bug report for it too. Especially if you have reliable or at least quite reliable steps.
-
@steffie: Confirmed. Team is aware of it.
-
@xtremalraven: What do you mean by "enabling tab switch by RMB+scroll no longer affects other functionality"?
-
@lonm: Yea, indeed it seems a good idea to say also on the snapshots' installer screen: "WARNING: This is a test build and may break. If you do not want to beta test software, download a stable version from vivaldi.com".
-
@wojcieche It would not make much difference. There was a big red warning on the download page for Old Opera Betas, but people still complained about bugs.

Or maybe not...
https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-1-14-three-years-of-continuous-innovation/Today, we roll out the first release of 2018 that marks the third anniversary of our first technical public preview. Since January 2015
-
@steffie Now, now. People are allowed to believe they've been using a browser for four years, that was released three years ago. Our legend grows...
-
@pesala: Well, in any case, additional place of the warning would not hurt. If it drives away even one user from installing a snapshot, it is good. Because it means this user should not install it. And it will probably drive away more than one user, just we will never know how many.

Or maybe not Well, using Vivaldi is not a landmark in my live, so dates get mixed up.
I was sure I saw a 2014 somewhere. Now that I check, I follow the RSS, and here, since mid 2015 (1.0.215). So it was sometime back then. Or so...

Only nested quotes, apparently.
