Create Notes from drag and drop - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.8.755.3

@newscpq Just read the explanation of this process, as you don't seem to understand how blocking 3rd-party cookies actually works...
-
If I use a dark theme I can't tell when I have selected all text in the address bar. There doesn't appear to be a way to change the colour used for this highlighting either.

@Wolfgang: It was, until "Open Link" (force to open in same tab, no matter how coded) was added. The order is not written in stone and could change. It was already changed earlier to swap the 2nd and 3rd items, so it could change again depending on user feedback.
Yes, please! Since the latest auto-update (shapshot), I accidentally selected "Open Link" when I actually wanted "Open Link in New Tab" countless times. It's so frustrating!
You know, on Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome, the first item in the context menu is "Open Link in New Tab". That explains why this has become so hard-to-break a habit.
-
@cheve11e_191: We are investigating this, thanks for the report
-
@c0ldplasma: It has been confirmed, and is being actively investigated

If is in new Muting Tab options select Priotirize Active Tab or Play Only in Active Tab, audio stop play on Tab with Youtube Video playing, when click on Tab with Facebook page. Perhaps it would be good to do some exception for sites like Facebook or Messenger, where the sounds are for information only.
FYI you can open a new window (CTRL-N) to keep music etc. playing in the background. The selective mute is defined per-window...

"Inspect should be at the bottom of most item in document context menus (VB-25699)"
the inspect dialog should be in beside on the browser. combine with the browser like browser opera and chrome do.. i know you can do manually, but the auto-magically it is will be more appropriate...k. have a nice day!

that Notes accept Markdown. It's possible to apply underlining, bold, italic and links.
No, that was removed.
well .... it works for me on Stable and Snapshots.
-
@lamarca What OS do you use? I have some notes with markdown syntax and it never worked as a text formatting in neither Stable / Snapshot (on Windows 10). Could this be an OS thing?
-
@Gwen-Dragon see? I wrote your reply then Insert the Note.
Never?! Markdown formatting was removed 2015 in Vivaldi's Notes panel!
I can write a Note using Markdown
-
@pafflick I am on Debian Jessie. Do you compose a text then Insert Note where?
-
@ayespy: That is, why I gave user feedback
Wolfgang -
@lamarca euhhh.... your note is NOT formatting the markdown in your screenshot!
The FORUM is what is showing the rendered markdown...

Indeed. when composing a Note the formatting is not displayed in the box.
Iit will appear after you insert the text, like I did it the forum. -
A question to everyone who knows: I frequently backup Vivaldi (while waiting for the synchronization feature) by copying the 'default' folder. When importing to another Vivaldi installation (by overwriting the corresponding 'default' folder) everything works OK except for the extensions (i.e. the extensions folder) which are always (I observed it more than once) replaced by the 'generic' ones! Although the extensions are not installed, all extension contents & settings are not lost and are activated if I install the same extensions from scratch! Am I forgetting something or doing something wrong?
-
@nutcracker: Nope. Like passwords, extensions are encrypted and not portable from one unique user ID (user profile on a computer) to another. The data and settings transfer, but not the actual extension. The file content that is the extension is movable, but can't be decoded by a Vivaldi version opened by a different user or on a different machine.
-
@ayespy: sounds like somebody has been testing the sync feature a lot
-
@Dystasia nope, @Ayespy 's point of view is not related to the sync. It's about copying Vivaldi's profile or some profile files.
If some extension can sync passwords, sync can do it, too. No matter what the device ID is. Though, it's all about security risks and to be considered if it's good to add or not.and nope, I'm not testing the new sync which is confirmed to be under heavy development.
