When I select which OS I have (for instance Windows 10 64-bit) nothing happens. I have Vivaldi 1.13.1008.40. It works fine in Internet Explorer.

When I try to login to this site blog or forum, I get this message:
"Something went wrong during the authentication process. Please try signing in again."
In Internet Explorer it works, but the page is blank and I could only login by trial and error.

Thrive Themes Comments plugin doesn't work anymore (unable to load).

Works fine in other browsers.

It is Chrome that does that, not Vivaldi. To change the behaviour is (presumably) not trivial or it would have been done by now.

To avoid getting frustrated, find a workaround that suits you, e.g. if you don't want to clear your downloads folder regularly, assign another folder that you can clear regularly without worrying what might be in there. When you do want to save a file, use Save as, instead of Save or Open, and navigate to your real Downloads folder (or wherever).

I use an extension called "Close Tab" which simply puts an "X" button in the upper right corner that's simply used to close the active tab. It's a throwback way back to the Opera 12 days, and up until 1.13 it was working exactly as you'd expect. However since the update, when I use my "Close Tab" extension to close the only open tab, the browser closes completely, even when "Don't Close Window With Last Tab" is checked. I've confirmed that Vivaldi won't close the window if you attempt to use "Ctrl+F4", or push the "X" icon on the tab itself, but use of this extension causes the whole window to close. The behavior of this extension has been perfectly fine up until 1.13, and I have to assume something has changed on the Vivaldi side of things that makes this feature not work correctly. I'm just not sure if Vivaldi has done something wrong, or if the author of "Close Tab" needs to update their extension, and in what way they'd update it.

This doesn't seem related to one extension, but more to a "workload" of the extensions.
And this happens only when launching the application w/ this long url homempage ; loading the homepage after launch always works.

Firefox works fine. But chrome not working too.
There is no error and apps. I checked the KDE PLASMA shortcuts double.

I think it's chrome's fault.

Anyway, I reinstalled Vivaldi recently just to see give it another go, and what do you know?, everything works like a charm. I see other people are still running into certain though.
I love the search bar on Vivaldi, as well as other nice touches that I had never looked for in a browser but have have come to like.
It scores 146,2 in the 'Speedometer' benchmark with no other tabs open, and 135.0 with 14 other tabs open.
That places it head to head with Google Chrome as the highest scoring in this test (Chrome came out a mere whisker faster).
It scored highly in all other benchmarks as well by the way.

Snapshot 1.11.904.3 for Mac was OK
Both TED.com and Vimeo.com worked.

@robertgr: I have now discovered that if I launch Vivaldi from a hyperlink then every other time I click a hyperlink thereafter I get the correct behaviour, i.e. the new tab takes focus. More significantly I can re-enable the extensions at this point without issue. If I launch the Vivaldi from a shortcut then I see the issue (further testing has shown that the even with extensions disabled after an undetermined amount of time the issue recurs.

@An_dz thank you guys for taking a deeper look! bless you so since it has now been identified as a deeper issue can we see about making it it somewhat of a priority I love Vivaldi and amazon is no help they give a scripted response which basically means "we are gods go away"
i suggested once that a outdated Widevine Content Decryption Module might be the cause
I am more then happy to be a genie pig for any solutions you may come up with I have never tested a browser before buit i have 4 yrars experience as a Quality Assurance Tester for a Video game software company

@Stagger_Lee I think the problem is that they don't know whether you updated from 1.7 to 1.8 or whether you just installed one of the minor updates (this time they've released two of such updates so far, which is rather unusual).

You have to know that this is a new feature (introduced in 1.8), so it's not quite perfect, but I do agree that it should be improved.

@asianmusicguy They previously said it was affecting the WIndows installer... not Vivaldi itself. If you already have 1.7 installed then there's no point updating.
