After i installed some older 6.6 and 6.7 i can see it.

In 6.6.3271.61 the thumbnails shrinked to zero height when too much tabs in vertical tab bar and there was no scrollbar.
The scrollbar was introduced in 6.7.3329.41.

In 6.6 there was no indication that tab list was increasing as it had no scrollbar!

From my view of #UX and #Usability i do want a list where i can not see that it changed and where the previews are shrinking into the void.

Hi, in reply of your question in the status thread.
The behave you got used was a bug years old, if I can remember correctly.
This was fixed at some point and I guess this was the reason your report was rejected.
I know many users liked this, maybe you start a feature request to get this back as a setting.

            Cheers, mib
