Bring the snapshot stream up to date – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3291.3

Does anybody ever get the feeling that after updating something is not quite right but can't figure out if something is really not as it should be or it always was the way it is?
Anyway, in Speed Dial using Icons with text showing. The text is justified to the left. It looks weird but can't remember if that was that way or not.
Can anybody tell me please if that was the way it was, or not?

[History] Implement in memory database for history search (VB-103532)
If that was meant to address the issue I discovered and discussed on the forum (https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/95057/vivalidi-won-t-save-history-other-than-current-day), it doesn't. I just tested and it took 4.5 minutes to display any history older than current day.

@FutaLyn
Hello, at least that's how it is in the last stable version.Cheers, mib
-
@FutaLyn It was recently changed and can be fixed with a few lines of CSS code.

@saudiqbal chome decided you should not download from http.
In VIvaldi they added a confirm requester in the download panel to allow downloading anyway.
You may have to use left click/open in a new tab, when the http link is in a https page. -

Yes, but Chrome|ium download button in address bar shows a hint/warning.
Vivaldi is missing such. -

I have random crashes but no crashlog in "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Crashpad\reports"…
Does this count? -
It seems that the address bar does not search in the history anymore: For me it does only show bookmark entries. This is a bit annoying. Anybody else seeing the same behavior?
-
@Gif2D Check if crashdumps for Vivaldi exist at C:\Users......\AppData\Local\CrashDumps and send a report to Vivaldi bug tracker.
-
@punxatawnyphil Yes, I have the same problem.
-
@DoctorG But I still have hope for a traditional Friday 6.7 snapshot…
-
@punxatawnyphil: I have the problem, but with maybe an added twist. If I display History (e.g. <ctrl+h>) it only shows current day history unless I wait 4+ minutes for Vivaldi to do whatever it is it does. Then I can see the entire History. I think the address bar search might also need 4+ minutes to process the History file before it can access it, but not sure...

hi i have no sound on other tabs with the same (duplicate) website, only on one tab and no speaker or mute option.
6.6.3256.4 version and lower is working good, all higher versions have this same behaviour and not working for me.
it takes a few reboots to have this behaviour.

@DonoV (This may sound like passing the blame, and honestely ... it is ) Actually, if you had tried the same thing in Google Chrome or Edge (Thanks for not doing that) you would have seen the same issue (for another couple of days, unless you were using a recent Beta/Early Stable), since it was a regression that was introduced in Chromium 122 (and 3256 was still based on v120, until a few hours after that build was made, when 122 was integrated).
The Chromium team didn't get around to reverting the change that introduced it until a week ago, and that change did not get backported to 122 until after this week's Chromium security update.
We did grab that patch when we learned of it, so that it will be in a snapshot if we release it before the next security/stability update of 122 arrives in a few days, but for various reasons we unfortunately did not get around to one this week. Sorry.
-
@yngve: THANK YOU so much, at last some informative response. I have reported that issue quite a few snapshots ago, only recently managed to test it out in a new/empty profile (and ran into it again). Now that I know this is an upstream issue, I'll just stfu and patiently wait for this to be patched into V (from what you say, probably 2, max 3 snapshots ahead), cause at least I know the issue is known - and even worked on.
Oh, also, why would anyone keep Chrome/Edge around anyway?

Friday on my mind
-
Same thing for me too!
I even tried to create a new profile as it previously helped in a same kind of situation, but not this time.
Edit: I tried in Vivaldi Stable and here it works okay, so it's definitely a Snapshot issue.
-
There are 3 regressions from the previous Stable branch that is present in 6.6 Stable and Snapshots (or is it just me?)
- When you create a new theme, it makes a Copy but it displays the Default theme even though the colours show something different

In business, Microsoft has convinced companies to start imposing Edge for "compatibility" with Office365 log-in tricks... It's IE vs Netscape all over again!

@mossman
Yes, unfortunately, as always.
