Chromium memory leak when using hardware video acceleration

Chromium had a memory leak when VA-API was used on linux - link

It was fixed and is available in version 119. Vivaldi snapshot uses now version 116. When can we expect that fix to be in vivaldi? Some browsers use a patch to apply the fix link maybe it could be done also for vivaldi?

@riomus If it would be done (as a backport coming from 119 or manually -like what the maintainer of ungoogled-chromium for Arch did-) then in some of the Snapshot versions about to follow (based on Chromium 118), starting from tomorrow or next week, before Stable around 17-27 of October.

@riomus Can you please report about that memory leak (with the information links) to Vivaldi bug tracker. Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail. Thanks for helping us making Vivaldi better.

@npro @riomus update on this, the fix hasn't been (and doesn't look like it is going to be) backported to Chromium 118, so unless Vivaldi devs backport it themselves, you should expect it landing around Christmas 2023 with Vivaldi based on Chromium 120.

@npro Never knew about chromiumdash and never danced with this Chromish Gerrit.
I am not a Cr-metallic addict, more the Perl-ish one.
