Northern Summer Fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3077.3

Ever since upgrading to this build on my Mac, the menu bar completely disappears whenever using Vivaldi. I cannot access anything in the menu at all.
-
@oscillik Please report issue to Vivaldi bug tracker. Once that is done, share the bug number (beginning with VB-) you got by bug report mail. Thanks for helping us making Vivaldi better.
-
Thanks, I've reported the bug as VB-98966

@pathduck: Not this Friday, though…

Vivaldi snapshots are the biggest thing - BUT: For me, only version 6.1.3009.3 works reliably, all other snapshots lead to crashes without comment, and no solution can be found. I will still try this snapshot, but since the eternal back and forth, 1 step forward - two steps back, is time-consuming and annoying, I will have to part with Vivaldi.

@PlNKLADY
Hi, these forth an back destroy your profile, this can result in crashing and other issues in Vivaldi.
No crash for me since months on Windows 11 and Linux on different hardware.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin Thank You so much - but explicitly I only have problems with versions that were released after 6.1.3009.3. I have taken into account the problem with profiles, extensions, etc., I am currently not using Winddoof11 or Linux. I only spoke up because it was said several times that this problem of silent crashes was solved - which is not the case for me. A last word: version 6.2.3077.3 hasn't crashed yet, but hangs up to 5 minutes on startup. byebye

@PlNKLADY
Hi, check the Windows ask manger if a security software is running at Vivaldi start.
It is well known that third party security software can slowdown , block or even crash VIvaldi -
bored now with this 11 day old thread, so unfollowing/ignoring. surely it must be friday by now?
-
@ybjrepnfr Friday came with an update for a Stable build, but it is the holiday season for the Vivaldi Team.
-
@ybjrepnfr 11 days later...

Regression:
Linux + GTK 6.2.3077.3 does not switch to dark for webpages when they have dark-media style (CSS), but 6.1.3035.205 does.
Seems jump to chromium 116 broke something on Linux with GTK. -
option can be used as identifier sites falses
option can be used for best security...

this must be a bot, there's no other (logical) explanation.

I would like to have “Clear Browsing Data” button on the on the Address bar itself
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/31801/clear-browsing-data-button-on-the-address-bar -
I noticed that navigation keys don't work on the Speed Dial page (set on Startup) again
6.1.3035.111 is affected too
-
@Stardust They work fine here (up, down, left, right cursor). Are you sure that the Start Page has focus (F9)?
You may have to press Tab to shift focus from the Search field if that is displayed.

there is no focus on the 1st launch, it works in the new tab or if you close the 1st Speed Dial tab. IIRC this issue was fixed not a long time ago, but I see it returned again.

as a chronically temporally discombobulated peep, the very last thing that would ever cross my mind would be to be aware that today seems to be friday. prolly all day too, i hypothesise. that's heaps of time for... oh, something or other... at least, that's what my neighbour's pet goldfish walker mumbled.
