Lost All Dials
-
I did a sync update this morning and it wiped out all but 20 Dials. Any way to get them back without manually adding them in (again)?
-
@richjb54 use your daily profile backup and copy file Bookmarks back to C:\Users.....\Appdata\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\ subfolder.

@DoctorG
Where do I find the daily backup?
Thanks! -
@richjb54 You do no backups of your Windows user data? Sad. You should do this daily! Otherwise your were not able to restore important data.
Windows this example. There are many ideas and programs to do backups. What you like and need, you decide.Perhaps this can help if not already overwritten:
Open in Explorer%LOCALAPPDATA%\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\
Delete fileBookmarks
RenameBookmarks.bak
toBookmarks

@richjb54 Had you checked the Bookmarks Manager (Ctrl+B) if there are some in Trash or in other folders?
All your bookmarks are gone?
Or only the Speed Dial thumbnails? -
FVD Speed Dial. All the dials are gone.
-
@richjb54 Ah, you use a special extension for Speed Dial, i can not help as i do not have such installed.
And i do not know if extension "FVD Speed Dial" management of bookmarks is compatible with what Vivaldi Sync.
