Full Screen "Zen Mode"
-
Other apps have a "zen mode" that's intended to allow a user to focus on just the content and hide all of the UI elements, but Vivaldi on Mac doesn't appear to have this (unless I'm missing it somehow). If you enter full screen it retains all of the UI elements that can get in the way of viewing the web content on the page: tabs at the top, side panel, status bar at the bottom, etc. I tried setting up a "chain" command to do this and wasn't able to achieve it, but ideally there would be a built-in "zen mode" command or ideally a shortcut key combination to toggle between "zen mode" and regular browsing. Also, ideally "zen mode" would automatically trigger full screen as well and using the keyboard shortcut again would return to non-full screen mode and restore all previously visible UI elements, but I imagine that other users may want to configure this, so it should probably be an option. Another way of doing "zen mode" may be to provide this as an option when entering full screen mode- i.e. when this option is turned on, entering full screen mode would automatically hide all these UI elements. FWIW I used to use Windows and I could swear that browsers typically do a "zen mode" style full screen on Windows, perhaps even Vivaldi does this on Windows... but not on Mac?

@kevinbe Have you tried "hide UI" mode? The default shortcut should be βF10

@LonM Perfect, thank you from my side.
I was looking for it too, had assigned a shortcut to show/hide tab bar only.

@LonM wow- it was that easy all along... couldn't find this, thanks!

Why isn't this under the "View" menu? That would make it much easier to find.

@kevinbe it might also be called "toggle ui". If it is missing, you can add it yourself by customising the menu through settings.
If it's missing altogether on new profiles that might be a bug.
