Solved Sync Workspaces
-
Yes, I quit Vivaldi because of this missing feature.
Edge has it, and it's currently my browser of choice when I'm in windows machines. Not my favourite browser by far, but shared workspaces for me is a must-have.
On macOS though, Arc also has beautiful workspace support, which also includes multi-level folders per workspace. It also syncs across machines. The UI takes a while to get used to, but once you do is almost perfect. It's a shame it's macOS only, but the Windows version is on the way.Vivaldi team, please prioritize this. You have a very good browser. Healthy competition on this area was really needed, but now with Arc, Brave and Vivaldi we're seeing new ideas being finally implemented.

Been witing for this and other items
- Workspace sync
- Panel sync
- Block / Allow / Privacy sync
- session sync
- Mouse and Keyboard shortcuts sync
Not all settings are syncable, but if it is stored as yaml or json - it could be easier.

I really need this feature!
-
For me it would be great to have the workspaces synchronized everywhere I use Vivaldi, or if I delete my machine and install Windows or Mac or Linux and search for my workspaces, they would all be there without having to make backups of files or folders. complete. I am a PC technician and I have already discovered that the workspaces and everything in Vivaldi that does not synchronize does so by simply taking the Vivaldi folder that is in its installation location. But it would be more practical and comfortable if instead it were a style like Dropbox or GDrive or OneDrive in which I only have to install the program and with my username and password I am left with the folder working without needing to do anything, just connect to the internet and see how my work spaces emerge one by one and I just sit and watch them arrive while I have a fresh cup of coffee with milk and a cookie. Both things would then be the best thing in this life.

@Zalex108 i do now. Cheers

I'm Looking forward to this feature. Safari has a similar feature call tab groups that I find very useful. If I had it on Vivaldi and could use it on Mobile and Desktop, it would be so much better in comparison.
-
I also strongly back this up! Syncing workspaces could be great between devices or even just when using Vivaldi browser within or outside a VM.

+1, I'm starting to rely more and more on workspaces, and this is definitely a way to improve them.

Upvoting this request, synchronizing workspaces would provide incredibly, literally game-changing productivity for the professional using multiple workstations.
For example, consider this personalized set of workspaces for various activities and interests:
CAD (top workspace & bookmark category)
CAD\Maker (top workspace & 2nd-level bookmark category)
Compute
.
. +26 more
.

Think\GeologyMy 'workaround' for lack of workspace synchronization is to mirror workspace 'tab stack groups' with corresponding bookmark 'tree limbs.'
Since bookmarks ARE synchronized, I can with effort, asynchronously replicate workspace tab stack groups between workstations.
It's a pain in the tail, but on balance it DOES provide SOME measure of backup to sometimes ephemeral workspace configurations.
Another advantage of using the bookmarks tree as the workspaces\tab-stack back-up is that MANY more bookmarks can be stored/synchronized than can be concurrently kept open in workspace tab stacks without serious performance degradation.
Nevertheless, WORKSPACE SYNCHRONIZATION would be awesome!

I was really excited when I used Workspaces for the first time. Its an amazing feature.
And honestly my disappointment was huge when I found out they are not synced. Being able to sync my workspaces for different topics, Hobbies, work, gaming, NSFW, etc between devices and pick up from where I left on another device (I am switching multiple times a day) was the number one reason I turned them on.Without sync they are hardly worth it for me. Not more than a neat gimmick instead of an actually useful feature that improves my workflow.
And I really have some trouble understanding how a year later its not a thing yet, sure I don't know the structure of the software, but it can't be that hard to add sync to this data as well.It really would make this feature orders of magnitude more useful. Heck, I would go as far and say it's the key thing that would make this useful for people using more than one device in the first place.
-
Syncability would add a whole new dimension to the productivity potential of Workspaces.
Already I find them a productivity boost because combined with the default tab hibernation, it means you can leave a lot of tabs "open" for a long time, but not be overwhelmed by them because they are organized into workspaces.
-
@Blindheit I completely agree.
The workspaces feature MUST be sync'ed between devices for it to actually be useful. Otherwise we have to maintain these manually between devices, thereby introducing more work.
-
I would even go so far as to say that without syncing the workspaces, Vivaldi is just another browser. It's a nice browser, but one that at its core doesn't offer me much more than the ones I already have.
WITH sync - you enable a cross-device productivity gain none of the other browsers have, and THEN I'll be married to this browser!
It's time that we start seeing the browser as a work-tool, with all the organizational features that come with that.
-
How hard would it be for someone to write a plugin to utilise the "bin" as a method to sync workspaces across devices, while we wait for official feature? If that is even possible of course.
-
Lack of tab syncing in Vivaldi workspaces is a major hindrance to seamless cross-device browsing. It's essential that we're able to access our tabs across different computers, and without this feature, we're missing out on the full potential of the browser. It would be highly beneficial to have tab syncing in Vivaldi workspaces to improve our browsing experience.
-
Sync of workspaces is must have feature. Hard to work without it.
-
@ermakovmaxim In mobile version i will also glad to see same functionality. Divide tabs per workspace give a huge performance for work.
