Address Bar Search Error

Search from address bar all of a sudden not working...chrome-extension://mpognobbkildjkofajifpdfhcoklimli/google.com

Hi~
I was doing a search in the address bar (i've set it to use google.com) and it was redirecting to Bing. Now it doesn't redirect and instead says:

chrome-extension://mpognobbkildjkofajifpdfhcoklimli/google.com

Your file couldn’t be accessed
It may have been moved, edited, or deleted.
ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND

How do i fix this?

Hi, strange I never saw this, where do you set the default search engine?
You can try to restore to the default but keep your customized search engines.

@mib2berlin I have them all set to google.com. it's been working fine for couple years, just started all of a sudden yesterday. Bizarre. I tried to update vivaldi and still the same result. i can't search from the address bar any longer, it just keeps giving this 'error'.

Test this in a private window or the guest view.
An extension update can cause this, for example.
