The new Vivaldi speeds up your browsing and organizes your schedules with a Tasks Panel.

Smooth update and I like the new Tasks panel. Thanks Vteam

Still no decent RSS feed sidebar like 'Sage Like' for Firefox
Still no Multi-Account Containers like Firefox
Still no Extensions or even the bare minimum of a Stylish addon for Vivaldi MobileBunch of useless bloat no asked for .. Mail client, Calendars, Todo lists.. do people really want to store that much personal stuff on a browser that doesn't really even support a proper portable mode, has no password encryption for usage, and only a sync to there cloud option.. half this stuff is already better supported on Thunderbird and even has additional addon, and can be used in a PORTABLE way.. so you can use it without device sync accounts.
Just get back to improving the browser will you Vivaldi.. Maxthon2 for over 15 years still had better power features..still half a dozen Firefox Addons that you could port to Vivaldi for new features.
Maybe improve the theming aspect (another that Maxthon2 had a great browser skinning feature, icons,tabs, tabbar, individual areas backgrounds etc all possible to skin) so we can style the chrome gui better instead of using lame basic preset theme stuff for lame looking gui's.
Make a proper sidebar API, so we can have the possibility of better addons.. because it seems you're fixated on poor implementations that are better done elsewhere.
Honestly just sick of these almost pointless features.

@jon can we get a widget on mobile for the task panel.
it will be massive change .... comepnsating for gazillion apps used for task monitoring and control
-
@Koolio
Hi, all your ask for are feature I don´t need at all, most feature I like are the "Bloat" ones.
I still not understand why some people think "There" features are more important than others.Cheers, mib

@GCullinan Do you have a simply huge number of bookmarks?
-
Am I the only one having problems in tab stack tiling? Having those since a couple of snapshots and was working on the last stable.
Tiling a 6 tabs stack to grid (as an example) gives different results almost each time.
Tested right now with the following results on a 6 tabs stack:
- fine. 6 tabs shown;
- only 2 tabs shown;
- only 4 tabs shown;
- only 4 tabs shown;
- only 2 tabs shown;
- only 4 tabs shown;
- only 4 tabs shown;
- only 2 tabs shown;
- fine. 6 tabs shown;
Checked in linux both stable and snapshot.
-
@Ayespy I would not say huge, I have 288 bookmarks but there has been no increase in the last number of releases that would change the behavior.
-
Download panel is still totally unusable for me (rarely updating, empty, can't open files, ...), I keep reporting it and nothing is done, I have to use vivaldi:downloads to manage downloads and accept files, really annoying.
-
@GCullinan So that's not huge, but rather miniscule. Huge would be tens of thousands. I have a "medium" number at about 1500, but experience no sluggishness on systems with substantially inferior resources to yours. Bookmark scrolling is instantaneous/synchronous with mouse scrollwheel. If you have a clean profile and sluggish bookmark scrolling, I have to wonder if there is not some problem between Vivaldi and your graphics processing.
Do you have hardware acceleration turned on or off? Do you have animations in Vivaldi turned on or off? Just trying to figure out why your performance would be so very, very different from that at this end.
-
@Ayespy Hardware accelleration is turned on as is animations. I have a very good graphics card installed as well, good enough to run CAD programs.
-
@GCullinan
Hi, some user report issues/lagging with RTX 3070 cards, disable HW acceleration to exclude it is a GPU/Vivaldi issue.Cheers, mib
-
@GCullinan "Good" is not an issue. "Compatible" can be. Some systems have to have acceleration and/or animations turned off to perform well, and others must have them on. I leave them on for my systems, but some people have not been able to do so.
-
@Ayespy I have turned both off with not much difference.
-
@GCullinan You've got me. I can't replicate what you're experiencing, nor can I fully explain it. If it happened on any of my systems here I could explore it, but it doesn't.
-
@Ayespy Fair enough, I guess I will have to wait till another release comes out to see if it gets fixed.
Thanks for your help. -

Hello! I am writing here for the first time.
I use the Vivaldi browser, a lot of updates are constantly coming, but it has remained as buggy as it was.
Working with tabs is generally like the actions of enemy saboteurs.
Is it possible to somehow reach out to the developers to make just a high-quality browser, without unnecessary, mail, calendars and other things?
P.S. I am from Ukraine, I translate into English using Google -
@PanKot , if you don't need mail, calendar and other things, simply don't use it, other user need it and was added by their requests since long time. You can easy hide the corresponding icons in the settings, where you can customize also all other to your like, even the tab handling.
-
If the browser worked without problems, I would be silent. But the browser is endlessly updated, constantly writes innovations that I don’t need at all, and problems are not solved.
For example, with tabs at the top, the new tab disappears to the right and you have to manually scroll. In the menu, instead of the very necessary buttons, move the tab to the beginning and end of the list, just move the funny buttons one position. This can easily be done with a mouse without a button.
The very ideology of the browser implies that due to aggressive attempts by sites, it has to be restarted periodically, clearing the cache and cookies. Entrusting such a program with something else like mail and calendar is an extra instability.
By the way, after a short work, the browser does not open the Google translator site well. Just a white screen. If the browser is restarted, google translator returns -
@PanKot
Hi, the stable build is regular updated in a 6 week cycle, the last update was a mostly a security update from the Chromium base.
Chrome and Edge and all other Chromium based browser was updated, too.
Chrome:
15.09, 28.09, 01.10. 2022, for example.
You can scroll the tabs with the moues wheel, you can use two level tabbing and many more in Vivaldi.https://help.vivaldi.com/tutorials/scroll-tabs/
I use Google translator in a web panel, no tab needed.
Familiarize yourself with the options before you complain.
Cheers, mib
