Notifications on the right of the screen
-
After the update, notifications started to pop up on the left side of the screen. Any chance of adding a choice of on what side notifications pop up?
-
@Fyboch I have never seen this. Are these notifications from your OS?
Which OS and Vivaldi version are you using?
On both Vivaldi latest builds, my notification for the Alarm popup on the right bottom corner of the primary monitor, even if Vivaldi is running on the Secondary monitor. (I get one piece of toast for each open window).
-
@Pesala Win 10, latest Vivaldi version.
But may be it would be worth mentioning, that my Taskbar is on the left side of the screen ( | not __ )
-
@Fyboch The notification appear at the side where the Windows task bar resides.
You can not change this. -
@DoctorG But why then it displayed them on the other side just a few updates ago?

@Fyboch Multi-Monitor setting in Windows?
Use of app Power Toys?
Does that happen with Chromium 104, too? -
Multi-Monitor setting in Windows?
While I do use a second monitor, I didn't change anything.
Use of app Power Toys?
I don't use them
Does that happen with Chromium 104, too?
I don't use any other browser beside Vivaldi.

@Fyboch I asked for Chromium to check if it shows same issue as Vivaldi. You can fetch one from https://chromium.woolyss.com/#windows-64-bit , unzip to a temporary folder of your choice an test notification at https://www.bennish.net/web-notifications.html.
If you do not want to test with Chromium notification, report bug to Vivaldi tracker.
I can not test as my Windows 11 does not let me change position of tsakbar and i have only 1 monitor.

Checked Chromium. Notifications are on the left.
I moved my taskbar to its standard position. Notifications started to appear on the right. Huh.
Tell me if I am wrong, but did Vivaldi use system notifications for its email notificationss until recently? If yes, it would explain everything:
It didn't notice it until now, but the style of Vivaldi's notification changed too.

@Fyboch Seems like a bug in 5.4, Vivaldi stopped sending notifications to the Windows Action Center, all I'm getting is those disappointing fallback ones that just float there for a while, then disappear into the ether.
Dunno if there's a better solution than installing 5.3 and disabling updates for now. -
@Vollinger This is not that big of a problem, to resort to such measures. Just an annoyance.
