In the Download dialog, add a "Copy URL" button
-
In the Download pane, which current has the "Save", "Save as", and "Open" buttons, I want a button that allows users to show and/or copy the full URL of the download.
This would be useful for instances where a file needs to be downloaded using CLI tools (wget/curl), or for cases where one wants to share the download link with another person (e.g., on a forum).
An alternative method (currently required) is finding the download link, right-clicking, and using the Copy Link Address button. However, it's not always clear which link in nested links is the one that actually downloads the file.

@GreetingMarsupial This is already available in the Downloads popup window when a download is selected:
Or in the Downloads Panel:
You can also copy the link from the webpage without downloading the file.

I want to be able to copy the link without having to start the download and then cancel/delete the file after. I want a button here!
-
@GreetingMarsupial Why can't you copy the download link without even opening the download dialog?
-
For example, if you follow the download process for the Linux Lite torrent, you'll see that it's not obvious at what level the link is actually the torrent file download.
It's the fault of their web designer that it's unclear from what page the download box will pop up on the next hyperlink follow, but it's still frustrating

@GreetingMarsupial You can check the URL of the Download Torrent button from the status bar. Right-click, Copy link address gave me this URL:
https://osdn.net/projects/linuxlite/storage/5.8/linux-lite-5.8-64bit.iso.torrent

That's exactly my point! That link appears to be a .torrent file to download, but it is actually a web page (try clicking the link to see). That webpage has a redirect that ends up at the .torrent file eventually, which is the file I want the URL for ultimately.

just to chime in, the author @GreetingMarsupial is absolutely correct here - this requested feature doesn't exist currently. I also want this feature a lot. (in fact, i unknowingly created a duplicate topic despite doing search.)
Other site to exhibit such behaviour (download button links to a webpage which internally redirects to the actual download link) is fosshub.com (e.g. here: BCU)
@ Pesala is lucky in that probably he hasn't stumbled upon such a use case - which i agree, it kinda is niche as "general" ppl nowadays don't seem to care about anything too technical
