@dejaboom That is a known unfixed issue.

I found a solution and this does not appear to be a bug.
Solution: Install the Google Docs Offline extension. Now I can paste without formatting.
I believe this is installed by default with Chrome. If I disabled this extension in Chrome, I have the same problem of not being able to paste without formatting.

Hello all. Vivaldi has its own 'Paste as Plain Text' shortcut which I believe overrides Google's. I set it to ctrl+shift+v and it feels exactly the same as before. Not ideal, but a reasonable stopgap until Vivaldi fixes it.

possible workaround
Remove shortcut in Settings → Keyboard → Window → Paste&Go.
Double click the cell in Google Sheets before pasting with Ctrl + V, that should also remove any formatting.May be this helps to solve, had not tested yet, was told by Vivaldi Q&A team member.

@lightstream It is on chrome. Something similar is with office365 with chrome which pretty much says "I can't paste without my companion extension".

Not sure when the new shortcut was introduced, but now you can:
Ctrl-F12 -> Search for "paste" -> Paste as Plane Text
Set the shortcut to your liking. Eg Ctrl-Shift-V
