Command chains – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2350.3
-
@masterleo29: I think it's been absent for a while, but since I don't use that regularly, I can't say for sure when it went missing.

Vivaldi snapshot crash after start. When I log out from sync, everything is ok. When I login in again, the crash are repeated.
read the update announcement:
https://vivaldi.com/blog/desktop/command-chains-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-2350-3/Known Issues
If you have used sync in an earlier snapshot based on Chromium 92 (either on Desktop or Android), it might have created corrupted bookmark or notes entries and you will need to Clear Server Data. Affected users will have sync crash when trying to log out and log in again.I figured that the crashing is related to this issue, but not the exact same one, as they say that the affected users will have sync crash, not the browser itself.

@pathduck: What a good idea! Why didn't we think of that!

Why oh why isn't there a command/commandline to maximize/resize the window? EDIT: commandline seems to work but only if Vivaldi isn't already open...
-
Please add "Restore last closed card" button side by side Trash button.

Cheeky!
Of course I kind of figured you would, just wasn't expecting it so fast!

Having just a second to click on 'Sign off' before the browser crashes was an unpleasant surprise. Lucky for me that the sync settings page was still focused.
-
@duzers Try Ctrl+Z or Ctrl+Shift+T Reopen Closed Tab.
-
@alacho uh, I fully agree. It was just announced as "issue them in sequence via Quick Commands" and also it's found in the settings in this section.
-
@rijk: Wasn't starting Vivaldi without Internet an option?
-
@luetage: I wonder if all people who are on Stable will need to do that once the new Stable is released.
-
@xtremalraven It should be only those that used sync on the problematic snapshot(s). People that use stable exclusively shouldn't be affected.

Correct. I had issues because I use snapshots... My wife uses stable for her profiles on the same computers and on her phone and has been completely unaffected.

Playing with command chains, I created one to open link in new tab and tile. How can I make all links clicked in the LEFT tab open in the RIGHT tab? Or even just make background/middle click links open on the RIGHT tab?
Need a "destination tab" or follower linkage property or something similar. Is it possible with a java bookmarklet like function?
-
@syplex You cannot trigger a chain by clicking on a link.
-
@luetage that's not the question. I'm trying to make a chain that creates a tile set of windows where one window opens links exclusively in the other window in the tile.

Shouldn't this snapshot thread and this other thread be closed already? @xyzzy @lamarca
-
@altcode Thanks. I left this thread open because there were still some discussions here about Command Chains that the Vivaldi team were actively engaged in. I think that those have now either come to an end or have resumed in threads discussing newer builds.
Closing this thread now that Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2352.3 has been released.
