Can Vivaldi import bookmarks and other data from Firefox?
-
Hi, this is a problem that I have seen in many browsers for a long time and I do not see a solution. It turns out that in many browsers (including Vivaldi) I see that they import bookmarks from both IExplorer, Edge or Chrome, but I do not see that they do it from Firefox or portable editions of the previous ones, there are possibilities that this can be implemented in Vivaldi? I have sites of interest hosted on Firefox and it is very tedious to have to pass them one by one to Vivaldi or any other browser, I hope these words are heard, greetings.

@dwyagah You can export bookmarks from FF as a .html file & then import them in Vivaldi.
-
I am a long time FF user, and I have never seen that option, can you tell me how to do it and import it to vivaldi?
-
Export from firefox into html format and then vivaldi will import.Worked for me.
-
@dwyagah Take a look at your file menu or bookmark menu.
-
@dwyagah You should be able to import bookmarks, history and passwords directly from your Firefox install, it’s a supported browser. Open quick commands and type Import from Applications or Files to show the dialog.
-
I already did, you are geniuses, thank you very much, now I am comfortable in my work hunger, seriously, thank you very much

One question, I imported the .html file created in FF perfectly, but how do I import the .csv file with the passwords of the same ?, I have searched in the command that was suggested to me before but it does not let me do it, how can I proceed to do it to not having to re-enter password by password? -
@dwyagah Did you try going to vivaldi://welcome and importing data from Firefox?

Do this, and import from Firefox not from bookmarks.html
-
It only shows me IE and Edge, it doesn't show me FF, that's why I imported the bookmarks, but I don't see to import the passwords from there

@dwyagah CSV to import in Vivaldi needs this format (example):
name,url,username,password accounts.spotify.com,https://accounts.spotify.com/login/,[email protected],"MySecretPAssword - 123" login.vivaldi.net,https://login.vivaldi.net/authenticationendpoint/login.do,TEST,"ASDF"
allow me a moment to review the csv file
-
Yes, it says something similar, but how do I import it, drag and drop of course that would not work, should I enter a command or something similar to do it?

@dwyagah
Hi, if the FF syntax is correct you have to enabe import of passwords in chrome://flags/#PasswordImportCheers, mib

yes, now if it worked, thank you very much, now if I will completely emigrate to vivaldi, I think I will miss FF, but what a remedy, you have to evolve and think about the future, reiterated thanks !!!

If you want to import Descriptions, Nicknames, Tags, or Separators from the Firefox exported HTML, see This Script Copies Description, Separators, etc. from HTML to Existing Vivaldi Bookmarks. -
Just wanted to note, if you want to keep your history data, you need to set the setting in Vivaldi before import. Default is 3 months in Vivaldi.
