Option to disable keyboard multimedia keys in Vivaldi
-
By default Vivaldi blocking keyboard multimedia keys, so you can't control your music player for example.
(tested in Vivaldi 3.8.2259.3, linux version)I think we should have this setting in the Vivaldi Settings. I personally think it should be disabled by default
Current workaround:
It's a Chrome feature and it can be disabled here:
chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling

I can’t reply to your original topic anymore, apparently archived ones are a no go now. I think it would make sense to provide an option, but you might as well change your keyboard layout and move the media keys, so that the F1–F12‐keys can still be used for shortcuts in Vivaldi.

Disabled in Vivaldi, but media keys still dont want work with launched Vivaldi. I have separate keys on my keyboard.

@horrigun so you did this:
and your media keys still can control Vivaldi media, e.g. play/pause video on YouTube? Did you relaunch Vivaldi? What is your Vivaldi version and OS?

@stardust yes my media keys still are not working globally with opened vivaldi and turned off settings, and if settings are enabled keys didnt work with media inside browser at all. win 10, keyboard corsair k95 rgb, last stabel vivaldi version. Strange since with opera everything is ok without any changes in settings. Dont know about chrome though.

@horrigun just tested in Vivaldi 3.8.2259.42 (Stable channel) (64-bit), Linux version. Works correctly for me
