Add an alternative to automatically opening download tab
-
By default, when clicking on a link which leads to a file to be downloaded, the download tab opens on the left. It takes lot of space and, personally, I don't like to browse with the tab opened. I find the automatically opening download tab really annoying. I can disable opening the download tab in the settings, but then, there is no any confirmation that download was started. I would love to have an option to choose a confirmation that download was started, other than opening download tab. E.g. notification (like for download complete), some kind of toast or other way that doesn't change the window layout. What do you think?
Thank you!

If you just show the Panel Toolbar, and not the entire panel, then you can see the download progress on the toolbar icon.

@konoppo Enable "Open Download Panel Automatically":
Hi! Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I don't like when the tab opens automatically. It takes a lot of space and I need to close it each time. However, disabling this is options makes I have no confirmation at all. That's why I'm requesting for some less disturbing confirmation of started download. Which doesn't open huge tab/panel, which doesn't change the window size and don't resize everything and don't need to be closed manually - it just appears and disaperas after few seconds :).

@konoppo Vivaldi not open a tab, open the Download panel, and close it when the file is downloaded.
-
And you can just clear that option if you don't want the panel.

@barbudo2005 However, @konoppo does not want to show the panel. He/she just does not know the correct terminology.
If the panel toolbar is shown, it takes only a little space, but still shows the download progress.
F4 will hide the toolbar when you no longer need it.

Correct, thank you @Pesala for understanding me and sorry for wrong terminology. Yes, the download panel opens and for me it looks like this (it's much bigger and changes the visible area):
Thank you for understanding me and sorry again for wrong terminology.
Best regards
