There is an empty area in the thumbnail preview:

@Stardust You are seeing the "new look" at its best. Try using the Subtle theme with a dark background and custom thumbnail.

[Address bar] Focus isn’t in address field when creating a new window (VB-77049)

I wrote in this thread, that open web-panels can steal the focus in new window.
Other panels and without panels not.

Vivaldi stable 5.7, with mail-client and calendar
OS: Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon; Win10, Android 11

[Tabs][Extensions] Tab close doesn’t work after doing chrome.tabs.remove() by extension (VB-77135)

I don't understand this technical detail but if this means that now tabs won't become uncloseable anymore, it's good news.

@npro I see no reason for the change, maybe it is in preparation for Auto Detect Logos? I guess this is something that will polarise users.

I don't use custom thumbnails. I that a local picture for the site? I am too lazy for that :face_with_stuck-out_tongue:

                I tried another theme:

                alt text

Doesn't look too bad, but it is hard to notice the dial selection.
Also you can see that the black frame is too thick on the left dial (known Issue it seems)

Don't know if you have managed to read the last sentence of mine because I was editing it, this is exactly what I don't want to relive.

@Stardust That's an old issue, but anyway it could finally be fixed, right?

Hey, the focus is now in the address field when opening Vivaldi, too. Thank you!

I haven't done much testing, but it seems like this version is really ramping up my CPU usage.

I'm definitely not looking forward to the amount of modding I'll have to do when I get back... I guess I'll have to remove everything in the beginning 😫

Or learn Python & do some experimenting with the kyute browser 👿

Btw., does the address field focus work with chrome.tabs.create({}) or what was it?

@jumpsq I have calendar and mail enabled, but I don't really have anything in my calendar.

It seems like I had a vivaldi-bin process that resulted in the high CPU load. It remained at full load even after I closed the browser. I had to kill the process manually. CPU load seems like it's back to normal on a restart.

@atlemo Thanks, as I said above the Chropera times were very dark times where they kept making bizarre decisions, not listening to anyone, infuriating almost everyone, "testing the waters" before reverting changes (even after months) after having made everyone mad, so having been burned by that unfortunately I became suspicious and jumpy, waving red flags as soon as possible, thus next time be so kind mentioning these things in the "known issues" beforehand please 🤕 🙂 .
