Don’t delete feature requests with the user
-
I understand that it can be limited by laws &c &c… but is there any chance that when a user is removed (e.g. coz they’ve been long inactive), their FRs would be kept (at least the threads + the possibility to vote on the first post, even if it were empty)?
It’s kinda frustrating that requests disappear & when that’s finally discovered & a new request made, the votes & ideas have to be recollected.

@potmeklecbohdan Awkard. The thread usually can be kept with
a former user
string and any sensitive infos can be moderated. (We lost nice posts due this). -
@Hadden89 I’ve seen these as well, but that’s only a small portion. I don’t know if the user can affect this…
-
@potmeklecbohdan Keep moderated&expunged of personal datas by default would be nice. But yeah, if the user ask for a complete removal, probably the whole threads will disappear.

Hmm…

@potmeklecbohdan Well, we have bumped onto a
wontfix
it seems . -
@Hadden89 Damn.
code.delete code = Code.new(can_have_wontfix: false)
But look
-
the user can be asked about feature requests separately
-
if everything but the thread title & all other posts is deleted
at least the threads + the possibility to vote on the first post, even if it were empty
there’s almost nothing by the user — & the title can be changed
@Gwen-Dragon No, I think it’s normal. E.g., can you find any of the threads by @Quinca71?
-
-
@potmeklecbohdan I think is an interpretation issue... If the user mean "please remove anything I've written here, with or without my username" I don't see a solution; if the user mean "remove my username and infos which can be used to identify me" is fine. Quinca asked for a full removal. Then decided to have the "old" account active back, but still empty.
Also, I think NodeBB don't allow to open a new thread under a new username for keeping the old votes.
But I agree a former valuable user usually will accept to keep the feature request threads. Hoping is not a moderator nightmare (remove all the other threads manually). -
@Gwen-Dragon & that’s it (the reputation definitely isn’t for ‘posting nothing’)
-
@guigirl omg, reported
-
The feature request can’t disappear, it still has to be in the tracker. If only we were able to take a look at the tracker…
-
@luetage How do you know?
-
@potmeklecbohdan
I thought about it, long and hard,
Believe you me, I did my part.
And at long last, the day grew dark,
The cup long barren, lit a spark. -
Plagiarizing (or trying) @i_ri,
helow @potmeklecbohdan and everybody
Within my reach I have, in @Quinca71 Profile, >> "followed" and "following" users
when logged as @joabravo.At my own current profile, that's saying the same joabravo, I don't remember how I achieved, but I am still able to access This and this. Trully, these links are kept in my Profile >> bookmarks" (or Favorites don't know how is the English nomenclature). I repeat, I don't remember how I have done.
Luetage has convulsed my whole being with Ibsen

Aloha @JoaBravo
.and Everyone
in the vivaldi Terms of Use, you means user,
" ..content and material you publish on our forums and blogs is yours only, and Vivaldi does not claim ownership ... " -
@potmeklecbohdan I think it would work if you are very careful about not keeping anything by the actual user except the topic title, which they would have to allow when they delete the account. Or the terms could be changed to allow for keeping certain info after an account is deleted. Or the topic title could be rewritten/paraphrased and unlinked from the original user. There could be an @ghost like github.
-
@guigirl Well I’m glad someone liked it…
