Can anyone open the URL
Yes, opens fine.
then click on puzzles on the right lower side to confirm?
Erm, i must be blind; cannot even see such a word.
-
@derDay That’s exactly what I’m talking about, thanks.
-
@Steffie Well, it’s not easy, if you don’t know the site. If you still wanna try, just search for the term ‘puzzle’ and it’s the first hit.
-
@luetage Oh i saw
puzzle
immediately but ignored it. I looked + searched for exactly what you wrote, ie, the plural. I assumed there must be some other section... -
@Gwen-Dragon said in Menu and Notes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1929.19:
Page https://lichess.org/training/70757 gives a blank window in Vivaldi 3.1.1934.xx.
Also crashes V on page Back...
-
@Gwen-Dragon Reported as VB-68278 and dumps attached.
The blank page is most likely related, but maybe @luetage should report it too, as they're the one who wants to play chess, not me
-
@Ruarí [Site permissions] Handling is buggy (VB-68018)
Is it about the "lock icon" not working or about chrome://settings/content/cookies ? Because I do not see a change for the latter as it still forwards to vivaldi://settings/content/cookies which does not exist - are there other site-specific changes?
-
Thank you for fixing the native notifications! Much appreciated.
-
@Pathduck Already reported, put the VB in the original post.
-
@npro: The way I have the flag set normally (Enable native notifications=Disabled) works for me on that test page, once I click authorize and then show.
-
@rseiler That's good then, so previous default was a "bugged enable" which enabled Chromium notifications, I swear I tested it with disabled but maybe I forgot to allow cookies or whatever...
-
@pesala: Dupe of VB-68141 and already fixed internally.
-

Additionally I’m still experiencing issues on https://lichess.org/. Can anyone open the URL and then click on puzzles on the right lower side to confirm?
Issued as
VB-68274
Everything is working fine for me on Windows
-
@gwen-dragon: I'm testing standalone on Win10 Insider (so sort of post 2004), but what I meant by "Enable native notifications=Disabled" is Chromium's own notifications, which I thought was what we were talking about. That's correct behavior for Disabled.
I'm thinking now you're trying for Windows notifications though, and if so, there appears to be no way to do that, since setting it on Enabled still yields Chromium-style notifications.

Hmm. Sadly, one bug which has been reported in May has still not been fixed. VB-64190. Reddit Enhancement Suite needs permissions to fully function and it cannot work and I don't know any other similar extensions that would need to add site permissions but it just isn't doing it.

Is that May 2020, May 2019, or maybe May 2018?
I have a bug reported in December 2017 (and some older than that since lost), still not fixed. Fixing a bug in just one month is rare, and it would have to affect nearly everyone to get immediate attention.
The Vivaldi Team is small, and fixing bugs and regression caused by Chromium updates is a top priority. Bug numbers are now approaching 70,000. Even allowing for many duplicates, invalid, and already fixed bugs there might be 7,000 bugs in the queue (that is a wild guess).
-
@pesala: March 2020* (Apologies, I might have looked at May for some reason but it was March that the bug was reported). I noticed a few others in the past, but I believe those were tied to the similar time period of several other extensions. Its just odd that it can't pop up to ask if the permission is ok. I could temp work around it by trying to manually adding site permission, but there is no option for that. At first it was reported to RES, but they feel its specific to Vivaldi because all other chromium based browsers work fine. I don't know much more on what to check to add to the bug for what its doing, but I do know that even when its on its own profile that is fresh start with basics default settings, it still won't allow the permissions, complaining immediately that permissions isn't granted. There is an option to force all permissions, but it won't toggle, probably related to the whole not popping up with permission granting.

@zapoqx Quite a lot of threads show up in a search for Reddit Enhancement Suite. The first is tagged as Solved, but it is very old. Prime Video, Twitch TV, and apparently Reddit Enhancement Suite too, seem to be infamous for breaking down with any updates to the Chromium code.
This post by Gwen the magic dragon says that it was confirmed in April, but there is no progress yet.

Really nice! I noticed already in the previous Snapshot that bug VB-60126 (+/- same as VB-61837) seems to be resolved now (didn't see it announced in the blog changelogs).
It's great!!!!
I don't know if this is due to a Chromium update or if it is something that has been fixed by the team.
