"View previous tab" from Opera
-
I would like to have a feature to go to the previously active tab. In Opera it is enabled by default with a shortcut ctrl + `.
Opera shortcuts - search for "View previous tab"
I have tried an extension Recent Tabs but it doesn't work.
This feature is only reason why I'm still using Opera.

It kinda already exists. Go to
Settings > Keyboard > Tab
and you'll findPrevious Tab (by Order)
andPrevious Tab (Recent)
. You also haveNext tab
versions in there.Obviously, you'll need two key binds if you want to be able to go back and forth between two tabs (pressing
Previous Tab (Recent)
twice will not take you back to the tab you started on). -
@Harry19911 The feature already exists.

There isn't exact the same feature.
In Opera, I can hold Ctrl and repeatedly press ` to switch between two tabs. In Vivaldi, I can do the same using Ctrl + Tab, but I have to release the Ctrl after each tabs switching, otherwise it will open yet another tab.
The Opera's behavior is faster and more convenient for example in web developing, when I want to compare two similar sites by switching it multiple times at once.

@Harry19911 Tab Tiling may be what you need.
Or try Settings, Tabs, Tab Features, Minimise Active Tab.

Minimise active tab, as Pesala suggested, should essentially do what you are looking for. I had to check if that option was available to be set up as a keyboard shortcut but unfortunately it's not. I believe it's something that would make sense to be keyboard controllable, so feel free to reword your request in this direction.

@mtaki14 Yes, the "Minimise Active Tab" works the way I want, so I just need a keyboard shortcut for that.
-
Of course, if you're trying to compare two tabs we'd probably suggest tiling them so you can see both at once (a feature not available in Opera).
Vivaldi works the way Opera 12 did - the order is locked until Ctrl is released precisely so that you could go to the "third most recent" or even earlier tabs.
