Customizable search engines

Having to sync with desktop is a kludge. As Bing fell over today, taking with it DuckDuckGo, Qwant etc etc, I decided give Mojeek a try. Why should it be so difficult?

still +1 to this even though its been 4 years already
I need to be able to set custom engines in the android app itself.
Sync is unusable .. sure, it sync.. but if the browser isnt allowed to use a custom engine, it doesnt work on a lot of phones.
My pixel 9 simply crashes when I go to the search engine setting due to the fact that it cant handle the custom engine synced from desktop... (And it still grabs the default search engine)
This really needs to be looked at -
+1 from me too. It would like to use startpage.
Also I think the user base of Vivaldi is quite keen on privacy, tracking and customization so adding custom search engines seems like a no-brainer to me.
