Option to start browser in fullscreen
-
I love working in fullscreen but it annoys me that there is no option to start the browser in fullscreen.
I would love to see an option for this added to the browser

It's generally a good idea to post one request per thread. Makes it easier for people to upvote the requests they are most interested in.
Regarding your suggestions:
2) What do you mean by "tab close button in the F2 popup"? An actual button in the quick commands popup for closing tabs? Or that the "Close tab" command appears by default in the popup?
Personally I would see that as clutter. You can either use a keyboard shortcut for it, or typeclose tab
to execute the command.
3) Yes, please. Really annoying that panels unload every time I fullscreen a video.
4) If you hide the UI (Ctrl+F11) you almost get what you want. Still have the top bar with a close button and window name, but everything else is hidden (and you can still see the taskbar). -
I like the "tab close button in F2 popup" suggestion. That way, one could search, for instance, for all the tabs mentioning "finance" in the title, and get rid of all of them much quicker...
-
@pauloaguia In that case I'd rather see a "close all" command added to Quick Commands. Something like writing
close all finance
.To close individual tabs after a search, I guess it would be possible to e.g. add an
X
at the end of each tab's row (click it to close that tab). Wouldn't clutter too much. -
I would like the same feature of the macOS, when the mouse passes to the top border shows the tabs and the web address.
-
@Komposten what if I don't want to close all? I know the keyword(s) to search for, but that doesn't mean I want to close them all...
I'd rather see both -
@pauloaguia That's why I added the second paragraph in my post. ^^
-
@Komposten The suggestions relate to the same topic so that I why I placed them in one topic but lets not discuss that.
- at the image below you find a screenshot of what I mean with a close button in the F2 menu. When you need to close a couple of tabs quickly (when still in fullscreen), it is unpractical to go to each tab, click Ctrl + w and move to the next one to close tabs. I think that if the designers create a subtle x it will not clutter. and like @pauloaguia said, it allows the user to quickly handle multiple tabs.
- thanks for the tip, that works but is there an option to start in that mode by default?

Why not follow the rule as stated? The emphasis is not mine:
- If a feature hasn’t been requested, start a new topic. Post only one feature request per topic.
- There is already a commandline switch to start the browser in fullscreen, though it does not seem to work. Maybe a bug report is needed, or ask in the appropriate forum if it is supposed to be enabled.
- Tab Close button on Quick Commands is worth a vote
- Keep webpanels enabled is not, because F11, F4 is very simple to do
- I would just use Alt+Tab, so I would not vote for this.
-
@Pesala Thanks for your reply.
- I don agree with you statement here because it is not very user friendly to use commandline switches. An option will likely enable more people to use this function.
- Do I need to create a new standalone topic for this?
-
@Vincent500 I suggest editing your first post in the thread to focus on the first issue, then start three more threads for the other three issues.

Upvoted.
On firefox I'm currently using extension for that, works like a charm.
Something similar would be great. -
