Better Widevine (EME) support for Linux – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1360.4
-
@angrypenguin: Well that is the correct version.
Hmm, I am not at a linux machine right now. Would you mind testing something for me. Download this instead
https://dl.google.com/widevine-cdm/4.10.1146.0-linux-x64.zip
unzip it and use the libwidevine within the zip file instead and let me know if that works for you
-
@mib2berlin: That is the correct file. Hmm...
-
@mib2berlin: close any netflix tabs, delete your netflix cookies, restart the browser and try again
-
@ruario
Same error.
Will check install from scratch later and report.Cheers, mib
-
@ruario: Unfortunately, it's the same.
Could the problem was somewhere else? -
@ruario
Yep, deleting cookies/tabs and restart does not help.
@AngryPenguin, hi, can you add your OS, please?Cheers, mib

Hello,
when I wake up my computer (Arch Linux, Gnome, systemd) from suspend-to-ram, mouse gestures don't work on the tabs that were opened before I pu my computer to sleep. Gestures in new tabs (opened after the resume) are working fine. Is it known issue, or can somebody confirm this? This is not regression in the current snapshot, but I can't remember in which snapshot this problem appeared for the first time. -
I don't know why, but it makes me happy to see my very own VB among the list of fixed issues (even though it was a very small - almost irrelevant - issue).
-
Same situation on debian 9 with widevine/netflix. I tried reverting the new symlink to original location, but that didn't help either. Stable still works with /opt/google/chrome/libwidevinecdm.so v1.49.1088
-
@pafflick Which one was it? Sorry for being so indiscreet because I know that VBs are quite personal stuff

VB-44574 - and others - sound interesting
Why, what's so interesting about it?
-
-
@angrypenguin: Would you mind trying one more?
https://dl.google.com/widevine-cdm/4.10.1196.0-linux-x64.zip
-
@asdfzombie: I confirm with the 2.2.1360.4 64 bits on W10
-
@ruario: unfortunately, no effect.
-
Ok, one last idea. Try extracting Widevine 4.10.1224.0 out of Chrome beta (71.0.3578.30) and using that.
You should be able to do it on the fly during download, like so:
curl -r10596- https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-beta_current_amd64.deb | tar xJ ./opt/google/chrome-beta/libwidevinecdm.so --strip 4
(Note: You can triple-click to select the whole command in the line above)

Fist, but still no M3
I am waiting too, please don't make it until 2030.
-
@mib2berlin: He uses Mageia and OpenMandriva

@ruario
Hi, testing the beta lib but does not work.
I delete all Netflix cookies and restart before testing.Call it a day for now and thanks @ruario

I think there is a bug, maybe due chr71 update.
It happens on facebook and on imgur; let me know if it also happens on other sites and if it was reported:"drag n' drop a media in a webpage "active area" opens it instead uploading"
Edit: Purged FB cookies. Seems to have solved the issue.
