Show the Bookmarks Bar only on New Tabs

this feature is a built-in from Chromium which is why every Chromium-based browser have it, I know Vivaldi rewrite parts of the code but so is other browser, yet they still have it.
There must be a reason why this feature is stripped off the codeVivaldi doesn't use most of the Chromium user interface code. Vivaldi's UI is made with web technologies with a few popup menus from Chromium.
So in this case it likely wasn't a decision to remove this functionality; they would just have to rewrite this feature in JavaScript and/or CSS and maybe do some background work on their internal API.
It still shouldn't be too incredibly difficult to accomplish, but there are always other priorities that take up developers time.

I would also really like to have this.
-
Please make this like Edge, and every other browser out there.
-
Any changes?
So much browsers can this just by default.
Please? -
I too would love this feature added to VIVALDI.
-
Any update on that? I come from Chromium / Brave and don't understand why it's been removed from the original codebase (?)
-
Shouldn't this already be the default option by now? It's the default behavior on most browsers out there, and that most people have already got used to it, Google Chrome, Edge, Firefox they all have it. The reason why it's only getting a few upvotes were probably because, people tested the browser and just quit using it for good, either for the UI that's not like google chrome or firefox, they don't think it's worth the effort to post on this forum. I mean it's just the default UI, there's a reason why every browser implemented this to stay competitive. It could be just a minor thing to you, but it has great impacts on deciding if the users wanted to stay on using this browser.

@iAN-CooG Just google "Most popular web browser in 2023" download those browsers

Would really love this feature too. Just switched to vivaldi a couple hours ago and am honestly shocked its not here. What everyone else has failed to mention is how it helps you focus more, which is why I use it and think its important
-
Its surprising that vivaldi doesnt already have this features.
Removing the bookmark bar after opening a link just makes sense. -
I wish Vivaldi had all the basic Chromium functionalities PLUS it's amazing exclusive features...
-
I thought this was a default thing on Chromium browsers. What a bummer.
-
Come on guys, really this feature is very basic thing nowadays, it should be implemented
-
Wow, I was surprised that this feature was not present. I had to search the web after I didn't find the setting, but instead I found this thread.
I hope this will be implemented in the future!
