Subpixel Font Rendering Like Opera 12.17
-
Today Vivaldi paints blurred (soapy) fonts, in comparsion to Opera 12.17 (windows version), where fonts are sharp. For big and medium size monitors it is not acceptable, because visually it is very poor.
Opera 12.17 uses for font rendering all LCD's subpixels. For example, for HD resolution 1920x1080 here are 5760x1080 effective subpixels.
Is it possible to make crystal font rendering as in Opera?

3 questions because it is known that the font rendering is different:
- Which OS do you use? (asking because the display changes between different OS and sometimes even between different OS versions)
- Which of the font renderings below do you see? (magnified without any smoothing or sharpening to 500%. click the image to see the full size)
- Which of the two renderings is similar to Opera 12 and which one is similar to Vivaldi?
-
- I have Windows 7
- Can You show two 100% scale pictures instead one 500% scale? With 500% scale it is hard to compare...

Top is Vivaldi 2.1, bottom is Opera 12.18, both running on the same W7 machine

Thanks for You answer!
There is significant improvement since Vivaldi version i used before. Problem was solved by 90%! But 10% are here yet.
Please, look at this combined picture. On top is Opera, below is Vivaldi (2.1.1). Thease 10% of problem marked in red color. Width (and blackness) of 'i' letter is disappeared. Some details of other letters partially disappeared too (for example, right vertical line of 'n' - left vartical line no equal right vertical line)!
There are 100% size of screenshots:

Vivaldi: -

Here is a good example of how bad Vivaldi font engine is/how good Firefox font engine is:

Unfortunately the developers have decided to mark this as "Will not do" for the moment. This is because the upstream chromium code controls font rendering and at the moment the developers do not have the resources to work on this.
If you want, you could make a request to the chromium project for this feature.
