Allow to unfollow any local forum and any sub-section

Local forums (which I can't read) still pop up in the un-read.
Just allow a mass "unfollow" to any whole local forum section. -
@hadden89 I would assume that's a nodeBB bug.
-
Hey @Hadden89,
All categories have a (un)follow option. On the Local Forum category, scroll past all the language subcategories to the bottom. There you'll find the watching/ignoring option. Whatever you select there, will be applied to the subcategories as well.
If you still wish to follow one or two of these subcategories then you can change the setting in that particular category. -
@jane-n That's not how it works, sadly. We had this discussion a few times already. You can only make sure that no subcategories pop up when you go into every subcategory manually and set to "ignoring".
If you do this one time everything is set, then you just have to "ignore" again when new subcategories are being created.
A good example is the local forum, where one would think it would be enough to set to "ignoring" in the Forum (https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/38/local-forum) and then everything is being ignored, but the one or 2 local forums you wanted to follow and therefore set to "watching". Doesn't work this way.

Has anyone reported this already? I couldn't find anything on BTS.
If this bug hasn't been reported, please do and tell me the bug number.

@jane-n No idea, I don't have access to the bugtracker.

@jane-n The feature request for NodeBB is here:
https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/issues/5851I've sent a pull request to implement the feature here:
https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/pull/6648I'm awaiting their feedback on how to fix the errors on their automated tests.
Edit:
The feature is already available but the theme changes by Vivaldi has not added the item in the menu. You can access the page here: -
@an_dz Just a short question. Why the additional page? Shouldn't it work by just using the existing buttons? Or is the existing configuration supposed to just trigger the current category and no subcategories?
-
@luetage The request is to add a page where you can easily check which categories you are following or ignoring.
The normal behaviour is for the setting to apply to all sub-categories.
-
The issue people were having was that even when a category is ignored, any newly-created subcategory does not assume its parent's status.
-
@an_dz When we'll see the page on the forum?
I saw NodeBB merged your pull -
@hadden89 First NodeBB must release a stable version with my change, they will also need to translate the new strings before, and only then we can expect it hitting here.
-
@an_dz Premised Vivaldi updates immediately…

@An_dz Yeah, there are a few pages missing from the profile dropdown menu right now: categories, blocks and uploads.
-
@luetage I'm creating a bug report now.
-
Such pages are still hidden
-
We have started testing out nodeBB most recent version 1.12.1 on our staging servers and this issue is gone there.
Thanks a mil @An_dz for making it happen on nodeBB side, it's a huge improvement for us.

Still hidden. Could be add to the Vivaldi Forum Mod? @luetage
