Close Pinned Tabs Option in Context-menu
-
I'd like to request a "close tab" option inside the context-menu for "pinned" tabs as a means to actually close pined tabs (non-accidentally) without unpinning them first.
-
@losers Do you know about the Setting, Tabs, Pinned Tabs "Close as Other Tabs" ?

Hi @Pesala !
Thanks for the tip.
No, I didn't know about it. I checked it out and it doesn't do what I'm requesting.
"as other tabs" allows you to "accidentally" close a pinned tab (i.e. via middle-clicking it) which is not what I'm suggesting.
I'm suggesting *only* adding a context-menu option to close pinned tabs despite the pin; that way you can close them without the unpinning hassle but never accidentally...

Agree.
It would be convenient to be able to close the tab without first activating and unpinning it.
In this case, the pinned tab should not be closed by the commands "Close all tabs", "Close tabs on the left" (as it will be if the option "Close as Other Tabs" is activated).
This is how the pinned tabs are implemented in Chrome. -
@losers With Command Chains, we can now create a chain to Pin/Unpin a Tab, then close it. Then add the command chain to the Tab menu using Settings, Appearance, Menu Customisation.
If executed by mistake on an unpinned tab, it will pin the tab without closing it. Experiment with the command chain to see if you can make it behave as you want.
I changed it slightly to Close / Pin Tab and removed Pin Tab from the Tab Context menu.
- If the tab is not pinned, the command chain will pin it
- If the tab is already pinned, the Unpin Tab item appears above the Close / Pin Tab item on the menu.

Thank you for your request. As it has received few votes over 4 years, it is now going to be archived.
