Menu Access to Chromeless Mode (Toggle UI)
-
Currently, the only way to enter or leave chromeless mode is by using the shortcut Ctrl+F11 (or whatever else you care to assign to the command)
This can cause a problem for new users who enter Chromeless mode by accident and don't know how to get out of it.
(VB-38984) Too Hard to Exit Chromeless Mode
Go Fullscreen (F11) is shown on the Window menu, and Fullscreen (F11) is on the right-click context menu.
I am not too keen on cluttering the right-click menu with this rarely used feature, but it should be on the Window menu, or perhaps a button could be shown on the Window title bar when in this mode?

@pesala You are right, but I expect, new vivaldi users dont press two keys by accident without going to Help -- Shortcut list. -- Ctrl +F1 and read them. (With Shift could happen)
-
@burbuja I first filed the bug report after a new user had found himself in Chromeless mode and did not know how he got there.
-
@pesala Ok, no problem. Sure, it can happen ....
-
@burbuja Is not F11 the "standard" to go in/out of Fullscreen mode? After pressing Ctrl +F11 you have to press F11 to get back the normal mode.
-
@burbuja Fullscreen and chromeless are not the same thing. Chromeless means that at all times, irrespective of status otherwise, you are not showing the UI. Fullscreen "hides" the UI so that the page can take up the whole monitor, but chromeless hides the UI even when the browser is restored or minimized. Ctrl+F11 enters chromeless mode.
-
@ayespy OK, I did not notice this differerence ....
-
Waitaminnit. If I press Ctrl+F11, I get into chromeless mode. If I press it again, I get the UI back (except, of course, for the white bar at the top sometimes).
-
@ayespy exactly.
Edit: only one time -
@burbuja hmmmmm... Ennyway, I'm a half hour past my bedtime. Must retire.
