Keeping the title visible when you scroll the page
-
When you read or open several forum threads, that the opening of this thread gets you to a particular message, you lose which thread it is. Keeping the title visible as part of the page header whereas the page is scrolled, would be very useful. Even keeping only this part always visible would be useful :

@seasonly I think this is very useful when discussing problems users have. I already fell for this a few times by responding to a problem after reading a few comments on a thread with a solution that would have worked out for windows but the user had a linux specific problem - which I didn't noticed. So this maybe could've helped me to avoid that mistake.

No problem on 1600x1200, not so good on 1200x1600 portrait mode.
The disappearing links in the header and the icons at top right is more of an issue than the disappearing bread-crumb trail, but it should be possible to make the heading wrap to multiple lines.

Last forum updates don't care about this, isn't this considered as so important as seeing the title of the page ?
-
@Seasonly As soon as you have the menu button top right, you can click it and access navigation items this way.

@luetage
I don't understand : which menu are you talking about ? Anyway it is surprising that anywhere the thread title is repeated as it does commonly into a lot forum. -
@Seasonly I was talking about navigation bar items. The thread title is part of the URL and is always visible when looking at the address field or the title of a tab. I don't really see the issue. It's also possible to go to top of page with either your keyboard buttons, or a mouse gesture, but that isn't really needed.

@luetage Aright. Thanks for these tips but the problem is still there. I mean if you don't use address bar, you have not visible the url. Even if the url is, it could be so long that you can't see (or make effort to detect it among url should I say) the thread title.
About getting the top of the page, this is a solution, but when you have several tabs opened, or have opened them for further reading, it very boring to get the top the page for each one, only because the page has opened to the last thread message, or you have scrolled the page to read them, and you have forgotten what the thread talks about because you have checked others tabs meanwhile.
How surprising it is for this modern forum whereas old forums haven't this problem because they repeat the thread title for each message. Here, it doesn't indeed. I can understand that if you don't write the title each time the page is lighter but then why losing this quick information whereas this could be done only keeping the thread title to the no scrollable part of the page ? Why letting browsers dealing with the lacks whereas every browsers and their every configuration are difficult to anticipate ?

@Seasonly The title will also appear if you hover a tab. Putting the topic title on the bottom is no solution, because there is infinite scrolling on nodeBB and that's probably the reason why it's only on top.
But hey, if you really want this, then you can simply run a little javascript that copies the breadcrumb and displays it on bottom too, it's not hard to do. I just think there is no point in forcing this on everyone. You can also bring this up to nodeBB devs directly: https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB

@luetage
Thanks for this hovering idea, it will be useful but i think it's still heavy for something as basic as a title thread.
Currently, the top of the page of the forum is no scrollable, this is the blue background part. If the thread title keep stuck to this, there is no problem for scrolling as it could be if the title would be located to the bottom. -
