Add Calendar Panel
-
I expected (or hoped) the calendar panel to work similarly to the mail panel, where the full view is opened from within and complemented by the panel.
turns out the calendar panel is currently just a less featured version of the full view with no button to quickly access to full-featured view. that is somewhat disappointing.
furthermore, I dislike the week view in the panel (which would be the view I would be using most often), as the days are weirdly spread across two columns that can have starkly different widths. that looks wrong.
the simplest solution for me is to just to use the full-view of vivaldi://calendar/ instead, but I would like to be able to open it quickly from the sidebar, and not have to browse the right-click context-menu of the the calendar button (Open in > New Tab).

@holly I like having panel and page separate much better. But maybe every panel could have a open in new tab button.
-
@code3 or in vivaldi://settings/panel/
perhaps there could be "open in new tab by default" option for each panel where that would be applicable. -
@holly , you can open the Calendar in the web Panel, or open it with right-click over the Icon >Open in new Tab, for full page view.
-
@holly Use a shortcut to open the calendar or access it through startpage, no need to go hunting in menus. You can also open it through quick commands.

@catweazle Someoneโs been in the matrix
-
@luetage , yes, this way too, if you use shortcuts.
-
@catweazle I tried web panel but that doesn't work for me.
creating a web panel pointing to vivaldi://calendar results in the the browser attempting to open chrome://calendar instead, which shows an ERR_INVALID_URL error.
I've already mentioned the right click > open in > new tab thing in my original post, but am hoping for less cumbersome solution.

@luetage thanks for pointing out that it can also be accessed from the start page, that is an adequate solution for me.

@holly , no add as Web Panel, by default the Calendar open in the WebPanel clickin in it's Icon. Only with the Right click in the Icon you have the Option to Open it in a New Tab for the full page view.
