Option to Move Panel Toggle to Address Bar

Option to move panel toggle to address bar. Make it an actual toggle with 2 different states (on/off).
A mod with this functionality can be tested here:

@luetage This would be covered by Configurable Toolbar
-
@pesala Oh please, if that's true configurable toolbar is covered by make the browser more awesome. I think we talked about this already. You can't put one lame generalisation over every specific request.
Moving a part of the status bar to the addressbar is not a toolbar configuration, and this one is far more specific, in that it asks for animating the panel toggle additionally.

I don't think it is lame at all. In Opera 12.18 you can move buttons and fields to any toolbar simply by holding down the shift key, or you can open the customise dialogue to move toolbars around and do more extensive customisation. Surely, that's what everyone wants?
If we have one feature request for every single option to move buttons A,B,C to Toolbars X,Y,Z the number of requests will be almost infinite.
Making the toggle button have two different states, like the Bookmarks folder icon or triangle icon is something else, though still worth doing. At least the tooltip now correctly changes from "Show Panel" to "Hide Panel."
-
@pesala The different tooltips have been there for over a year at least, can't remember we ever had just one tbh. But that has nothing to do with adding a second svg for the second state -- which hasn't happened yet, and would be really easy to do.
-
@luetage Yes. as I said, that would be worth doing, and probably very easy.

Sorry for reviving an old topic but I was wondering if this was possible somehow? I don't like having my status bar around but I would like a panel toggle for the occasional note I'd like to take.
-
@lotionexplosion You can set a KB shortcut or a MG to open/close the notes panel. You can also use QC.
-
@lotionexplosion The request is done, you can move the panel toggle with
shift-click
and drag&drop to address bar. -
@lotionexplosion I have my panels on the right, so I have moved the button to the right, after the clock, and I then moved the clock to the Navigation Bar. This must be done in that order as it is not possible to move the button after the slider if the clock is not there.
