Reading wojcieche's comments about providing what is especially disturbing.
One thing would be.
Vivaldi-Menu and Settings-window open on the wrong monitor
on a Multi-Monitor-Setup.
The left monitor, in Windows, is defined as Main-Monitor, the right one is secondary.
The right monitor is my working space where Vivaldi runs. When I try to open the Vivaldi-Menu (Vivaldi-Icon on the top/left corner) the menu
always opens on the top/right corner of the primary (left) monitor. This only happen when Vivaldi is maximized on the right monitor.
When it's not maximized, the menu open on the right monitor, just as it should. The settings window always open on the left (main/wrong) monitor.
That should defintely be fixed before the final.
Apart from that, love you guys…
Thanks for the hard work and long list of fixes… -
Yes. The backspace behavior is a separate issue. I know it is being investigated.
-
Fixed. Look for VB-12319

One feature I'd still like to see is having an individual proxy settings instead of just having to use the system settings.
At my workplace for example I'd like to use an additional transparent proxy (cntlm) for browsing before using the normal company proxy instead of just using the normal proxy like the rest of the system does.Vivaldi using it's own proxy settings would help greatly in my situation.
PS:
Oh and one regression I noticed with the new snapshot is, that double clicking a media file from the transfer panel won't push my media player (Zoom Player) in the foreground anymore. Vivaldi still stays on top and i have to drag Zoom Player on top manually which is kind of cumbersome.
This is a known bug from several month ago and was fixed already. Now it's back for some reason. -
Vivaldi seems to appear very fast in benchmarks, but in real life situation i have to agree with ruaman. It's often time not very performant. For example:
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/15155-Monthly-Studio-Report
It's the worst browser when it comes to scrolling this site. Don't ask me why.
Although ii have to say it has gotten much much better in the last couple of snapshots. Those monthly reports were almost unusable before. -
VB-7509 Implement support for import from standalone Vivaldi
Anyone tested this support? If works well, what is imported beyond the bookmarks?
-
Hello, THX for the new Build. Is there a way to modify or create the mouse gesture? I miss the "back to top" gesture (right click + move top).
-
I have to agree with ruaman. The performance of the UI is very bad. Try to open left panel or open a new tab. It's definitely not as smooth as it should be. I'm really impressed of new Opera performance. Vivaldi devs should follow the same way.
-
Bug - Folders bar (bookmarks) is outside of the browser. Lost the mark "+" http://imgur.com/B81iFrL http://imgur.com/YSQVDWN
-
Something that needs to be fixed before final: the default search engine of the search bar is also the default search engine of quick search, rendering it next to useless.

What happened to mac build?
-
Very nice build - and stable (tested on Win for now).
-
I use Alt for virtual screens - both on Linux and Windows, and almost always when I flip to the Vivaldi screen (holding then releasing Alt), Vivaldi does something unexpected: go back, close tab, etc. depending on the random mouse movement performed.
Please make the Alt-Gesture behaviour optional, as it is hugely annoying and disrupting work. It seems to be only useful for trackpad users. -
2 overlooks + 2 bugs:
overlook:
-
mail panel is still in the menu (better: mail panel is missing from panels )
http://imgur.com/8y6BS5G -
page actions (filters) are not translated (and no strings are added for them in transifex)
http://imgur.com/LA8MV8l
bugs: (these two are driving me crazy…)
(VB-11026) [regression] Opening closed window with stacked tabs from 'list trashbin' unstack them(VB-10348) scroll bar for vertical tabs - not needed
(this bug also "disable" the tab cycling by mousewheel when hovered over tabs)edit:
just found out that webpanels are really nice… but what about some "reload page (webpanel)" option? Would be nice to have something like "reload every XY seconds". (this one apply for regular tabs as well…)also the drag&drop would be nice (not only for rearranging order of webpanels but also for adding new webpanels… simply by dragging address (or tab) to the webpanel...)
and some "go to the home webpanel address"...

Thanks for this nice and stable version!
Could you streamline adding a current tab to a sub-sub-folder of the bookmarks? For me, the way it´s done per main menu in opera 12 is the best possible way: One click to open the bookmark menu and open the desired sub-sub-folder (check if it really fits to the other bookmarks in this folder..), the clicking on "add bookmark".
I would really love it if you could make this an optional way in vivaldi as well! I think then I would really using vivaldi as my main browser. But having a tree view in the right edit bookmark folder section in vivaldi would be also a good start.
-
I was able to import passwords and notes. I am hoping that mail will import later.
-
And why is it still called mac? They dropped the mac part from os x years ago in the naming scheme.
-
Could you provide details what do you mean and what options would you need?
I already did this multiple times. Vivaldi is the only browser I know of that activates the last active tab after closing a tab, not the one right next to it.
I find this incredibly annoying. -
VB-12182 - works fine for me (Windows)
