Snapshot 1.0.375.3 - Over fifty further fixes and improvements
-
Yes! New update! And holy crap, that's a lot of fixes! Things are looking good!
Thanks for the new snapshot! It's really nice to see the browser grow every week (or two). Really looking forward to those performance improvements now!
Oh, and I almost forgot. Since the last two builds, I've been having issues with Flash Player. Flash based content either phases in and out of existence (basically, the content is there, but when trying to interact with it, it keeps phasing in and out of an "interactive window", where I have to precisely time my clicks in order to successfully interact with it - which most of the time, is impossible to accomplish) or has no image whatsoever. This issue is mostly present on Flash games. Please, check it.

Same problem as with previous snapshot – very high disk usage on Linux, after closing the Vivaldi I still see process vivaldi-bin active and have to manually kill it. Only then the excessive disk usage stops. Good news is that the "Segmentation fault" problem when starting Vivaldi with 5 or more tabs in the session seems to be fixed. OS: Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 64-bit. I found that the vivaldi-bin process is constantly writing something to Top Sites-journal file (in .config/vivaldi-snapshot/Default/), clearing it and then starting all over again.

And the installer again doesn't ask for elevated rights under Windows
no problem here (Win7 x64, V x64)

- could we have 8-9 column speed dial options. I hate having to scroll speed dial because I couldn't fit enough on one page
- paste and go and paste as plain text still appear in context menu. I thought it was combined in this version?
-
Still getting empty tabs when using the Lastpass extension. I kind of hoped that this was a prioritized bug to fix, I guess not
-
Again, custom search engines without "post" are broken and stuff, keep the (good?) work

Thank you! First snapshot in 2 weeks, and we have lots of fixes. Not much that I really wrote about, but I hope that's in the works as well. I do like how there are now favicons in menus, and that the file size of the update is now 39.2MB instead of around 42MB, which means Vivaldi is getting smaller!
Also, thank you for fixing the status bar overlay! Now I can view the overlay while having my tabs at the bottom without the overlay covering the tabs.
I still want the option to turn off Alt for mouse gestures. I use Alt for a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and it's irritating to move my mouse while I'm using Alt for keyboard shortcuts, so I want the option to disable Alt for mouse gestures and just use the right click.
Other than that, I went to YouTube, pressed fullscreen on a video, but it didn't go fullscreen. Instead, it brought me to a fullscreen view of another website, and when I pressed Esc, it finally went back to the YouTube video, but it wasn't completely fullscreen. It stretched all the way up to my taskbar. So that's weird and never happened before.

Still waiting for pasting from selection (paste to go) [Linux]
-
I reported two issues and both are fixed! As an IT QA guy this is the most satisfying thing. Thank you, I love you!

If you have 2 tabs open, and drag one of them half way over the other tab (the 2nd tab turns grey) and release it, they overlap each other..! [Windows]

Well, you got stable browser, that's for sure, current Opera crashes with my router interface but Opera is much faster in loading pages so that needs to be improved in future versions.
Favicon selection on bookmarks bar is not in center, i use it without text so that's that.
I also noticed Slovenian lang. support it's not complete but that's ok, not sure if Vivaldi will gain any Slovenian users anyway, except me on a long run.

Thank you! Another new Snapshot!
VB-11620 seems to be fixed.Disabling browser Hardware Acceleration disables MP3 playback on Soundcloud.

Thanks for the continued hard work. Favicons appearing in the bookmark toolbar menus might be a relatively minor thing, but it's something I really appreciate. Just makes scanning for the right thing that much easier.

I hate to say this, but I'm still waiting on performance improvement for Vivaldi. It's just awful running Vivaldi at this moment specially on a high end Ultrabook.
I love Vivaldi, but for now I have no choice but to use Opera Dev, which seems to be buttery smooth and more intuitive compare to other alternatives (Chrome/FF) in the market. -
And again: GMX MailChecker still not working (VB-9592)
-
A great build! Thanks! Finally I can use global zoom (working on a laptop with a rather small display. But when connecting to a 4k-display it was really itchy to set a fitting zoom on every page (and back again, when disonnecting from that monitor))! And the option for disabling the 'x'-marks on tabs is also very apreciated!
Now, if only that "E-Mail-panel"-entry in the Vivaldi-menu would work…
Good work, Vivaldi-team! Keep on building! -
Regarding VB-11078 Add right click on navigation buttons I think you should make the context menu appear below the buttons like it does with the long click instead of right where the mouse cursor is. It blocks the button the way it is now and it's visually disjointed from the long click behavior.

Thank you for your great work. Please add and option for showing link urls and title as tooltip on hovering links, like old Opera. Right now if a link is on top of page and mouse is hovering it, the url is shown on status overlay all the way down the page.
-
…but why doesn't it zoom the page content just with Ctrl+ the wheel like Opera 12? Why have to press Shift too?
+1 Please only use Ctrl+MouseWheel to zoom (or even better: make it configurable via options)
Also: NumPad Plus/Minus should zoom the page without Ctrl per default.

Mega fixes. You have been busy. Thanks!
