@guigirl
How to track it? V is stuck, nothing to do. -
@kisunviikset start renaming one by one all your custom .js and .css until Vivaldi restarts normally
-
@guigirl Or first rename half of them, check, decide which half is the wrong one, repeat. The biggest issue of this is when there’re multiple broken hooks.
-
Hooks work with just tab-size.js. I can manage without the rest.
-
@guigirl As I recall,
loading.js
is/was prone to breakages (as such area change often, probably). -
Fwiw, a fix and a minor update (not including
loading.js
) have been PRed. -
Is it possible that this error (see gif) is caused by the new hook "Small pinned tabs in vertical tab bar"?
-
@guigirl Ok. I can confirm that this problem is due to the new hook "Small pinned tabs in vertical tab bar". When I disable this hook, the error does not occur.
-
-
@guigirl I can’t reproduce your issue, & @stardepp I don’t even understand what’s going on on your machine [pls try to describe it as good as you can].
justdanpo/VivaldiHooks#74
doesn’t change that one hook at all, so there’s little chance it’ll magically fix something.Edit: I can’t reproduce either issue.
-
Since the Vivaldi update to version 4.2 the hook "toogle-tab-button" has disappeared. Does anyone know where I can find the js. Code for toogle-tab-button.js still can get?
-
@stardepp It must have been your custom file, there’s no such hook in the git history anywhere.
-
@potmeklecbohdan I first set a shortcut to hide the tab bar.
-
@guigirl That was just a spelling mistake, I know the difference between toogle and toogle

@stardepp That was just me experimenting with creating a hook. You can find it further up in the thread here.
Thank you for your help. Too bad that I did not come to search here in this thread.
Always good how good and professional hir one is helped in the Vivaldi Forum

Hi all, I'm playing around with V having a native window and its UI being toggled off by default (
Ctrl+F11
), but unfortunately this state is not saved between restarts.
Now before I start searching the whole modification sub-forum, or create a new thread -some links are broken from the little I've searched-, does anyone know from personal experience if it's possible with VivaldiHooks?
Screenshot:TIA.
-
@npro Native window will always be preserved. For me personally the UI off status is kept between browser restarts too. Could be a bug, if it isn’t preserved tbh.
-
@luetage Crap, you are right, I have only tried restarting the browser with my old "corrupted" Stable Default profile (latest incident ESC, not working for returning from watching fullscreen videos), restarting the Snapshot from which the screenshot came preserves it, which leads me thinking about what should I do with it now
...
Thanks, you saved me a lot of searching for nothing. -
@luetage allright, it's not related to a corrupted profile (phew) but rather to the choice
Startup with -> Last Session
in the Settings.Anything else than that does not preserve the toggled-off UI, native window or not, which could be categorized as a bug, as the UI does not belong strictly to the session? I guess so.
