Snapshot 1.0.303.37 - Beta Candidate with Thumbnail improvements
-
There's a bug with extension popups sometimes showing up with scrollbars instead of their normal size.
-
I guess we wait to see if this gets fixed or if eventually we can move elements around as you did in 12.17.
-
yup. few months ago…
-
In my laptop whose screen is only 1366*768, I can hardly move the window of Vivaldi in normal size as the margin above the tabs is so small especially when I open many tabs and can hardly find space in the tab area. I think it is the smallest among chrome, firefox, vivaldi and opera.
-
Same thing happens for me on restart. I stacked a half dozen Vivaldi Community pages, then restarted and the Tabs were all separate again.
After testing a few more times, two 'internal' Tabs that I keep in a Group always survive and do not unstack:
vivaldi://memory-redirect
vivaldi://aboutAnd after chasing this for a while I've discovered that you cannot Pin a Group because there is no right-click menu option and you cannot weasel around it by trying to Group any Pinned Tabs, it's like trying to stack oiled BBs but not as entertaining.

Sajadi, try these two startup flags:
–disable-offline-auto-reload-visible-only
--enable-offline-auto-reloadI had to check and they seem to do what you want. I already had those flags configured for a pseudo-lazy-load before the Beta Candidates made lazy-load the default.
–enable-offline-auto-reload-visible-only
--disable-offline-auto-reload -
Confirmed. A rather "cool" bug indeed.

If you mean constant disk writes and not just bloated files then, yes, it happens to me.
Which OS and version of Vivaldi are you using?
Vivaldi never stops writing to something, somewhere on the disk. Sometimes it's Cookies and Events, other times it's some of the cache files but it never stops writing. I loaded up Resource Monitor and took a quick snip of the Disk tab with System and Vivaldi selected:-

Good point! Reported as VB-10327 Context menu of background tab should contain "Stack with active tab" option
-
It is on the todo list. There is just plenty of important things to be done, but rest assured this one is not forgotten. Just it is not trivial and a bit of time is needed - but much less than eternity.
-
Open Bugs:
Major:- Tab history is limited to the last 6 websites after a restart of Vivaldi
Minor:
- Notes, if you start Vivaldi with the Notes window the active note is empty
Thanks for letting know. Please report the first item, providing more details what you precisely mean and what are the steps to reproduce.
The second bug I reported as VB-10329.

From the time before TP3 was out, I wrote this problem.
1.Set focus to text box/area.
2.Turn IME on.
3.Set active window to other app.
4.Set active window to Vivaldi again.
5.IME and IME toggle key don't work until I focus out from current text box/area. -
I can't make a clear way to reproduce this but it always happens on my corporate portal. All I can say this bug existed in frist tps and was fixed later but then it returned a few builds ago. Chrome and Firefox has no issue like that.

Having deleted ”Top Files“, upon first restart the thumbnails / screenshots in Speeddial are empty, ie transparent (as could be anticipated).
But clicking one (eg a link to Vivaldi Blog) and immediately going back actually lead to a screenshot of speeddial as a thumbnail for the respective link.

Well, I'm using Vivaldi on two systems. Both Win7 64 bit, both with Vivaldi v1.0.303.48 64 bit. I get high disk usage in one, and normal on the other.
-
BTW, mine seems to go sky high when accessing \Vivaldi\User Data\Default\JumpListIcons\ as described in this thread

VB-8512 Facebook remains black after it tries to ask the user to enable HTML5 notifications
This broke notifications on all sites, did it not?
